  • Basic Supplies for Our Future 5th Graders!

    Funded Aug 30, 2018

A teacher never stops thinking about what their students need for success. In fact, it's us teachers who are constantly trying to supply our class with everything we can and thanks to you we were able to do just that. My co-teacher and I have been grateful for the creative learning materials you help donate which are setting my students up for success! Many of my student's escape place is school and our goal is to make it the most creatively driven and academic focused place possible. The new school year has been off to a great start, our students are able to unleash their creative minds and get to work with the supplies provided in this project.

The highlight of this project were the planners students were excited to use the planners for daily homework. The planners help students with organization by making a list of what needs to be accomplished in the short term, as well as the long term. This is a life skill that will continue to carry them far beyond the fifth grade. The planners keep an open line of communication between the teachers and my students' parents.

Thanks again for donating to this project, you have not only helped to improve and increase student attention and focus, you are ultimately helping to increase their academic achievement.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Smart

  • Headsets for 21st Century Learners

    Funded Jul 24, 2018

On behalf of my co teacher, class, and myself we would like to thank you for your generous support to our first project. My students has received headsets to help them do all the things that will make them successful in this 21st century learning environment. Technology is everywhere entwined in almost every part of our culture. It affects how we live, work, play, and most importantly learn. Integrating technology into our classroom is an effective way to connect with students of all learning styles.

My students are excited to learn when it comes to technology and this makes it more engaging for us the teachers. My students are able to use headsets with microphones in the classroom for many of our learning apps, educational programs and language learning. Headsets with an attached microphone has many uses in our classroom and it helps us create individual learning plans to cater to different student needs and requirements. So far my students are utilizing the headsets by listening to daily Math and Reading apps, and coding programs. A highlight for them is that they were able to make a digital library bulletin board. For this activity the students recorded their stories on their iPads and created QR code for others to listen to. Students also used these headsets to make videos to give peer feedback to one another.

We can't thank you enough but just know that you have given our students more opportunities with technology. Technology transforms the learning experience and our students will always treasure these experiences from our class.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Smart
