It was in my mid thirties, after my husband died, that I decided to go back to college. I wanted to be a teacher ever since my first teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up. There were many wonderful teachers in my life, however, there was this one in particular that touched my life forever. This special teacher was my third grade teacher. I had the privilege to teach with her at the same school, which was wonderful. My students need to know that they are cared about and supported. I want to offer my students a safe and enjoyable environment in which to learn.
