Thriving Student Supplies
Funded Jul 20, 2023The students are really enjoying the supplies to help keep them organized in kindergarten. The students use their chair back buddies everyday to keep with folder and pencil box in a safe place. The mesh zipper pouches are amazing to keep our letter boards neatly organized, and the clear stackable plastic organizer makes it really easy when we learn new letters and have to put them
on our letter boards. We go to lunch everyday with our clear plastic horizontal name badges! All kindergarten students love to write on dry erase boards and the magnetic whiteboard dry erasers help us keep our board very clean. Thank you for all of our wonderful supplies! We appreciate your generous donation.”

Funded Oct 26, 2022Your kind donations have given my students wonderful supplies. The kids loved their new crayons! They used the crayons on a reading worksheet about the letter L. They used yellow for the things that start with /l/ and they used orange for items that did not start with /l/. The students used the chain links to show ways to make five. They worked in small groups to see how many different ways there are to make five. And the Brain Flakes were used for morning bins, an alternative to paper and pencil morning work. Again the students are extremely happy to use our new supplies!”

Funded May 3, 2022Thank you for generously donating money to provide supplies for our recent literacy night for kindergarten families. All kindergarten families were invited to our cafeteria where they walked around to 5 stations to learn how to use materials to make learning literacy more fun and effective at home. Here are just a few of the stations from our literacy night.
One teacher used beach balls to review the story elements. Each family was show how to use the beach and given a beach ball to take home to use when reviewing story elements.
Another teacher used pipe cleaners and pony beads to show families how they can count sounds in words, count syllables in words, and count words in sentences. This teacher all provided the families with mathematical examples, too. Each family was given one pipe cleaner with 10 pony beads attached to be easily used at home.
Then a teacher showed the families how a fly swatter could be used at home to help make learning more fun. This teacher shared literacy skills such at letter identificatin, beginning sounds, and ending sounds. She even gave examples how this toold could be use with mathematics, too.”

Funded Feb 2, 2021Our wonderful items have arrived! The students were super excited when they watched me unload the boxes, and were even more excited to use the items. My students have been using the magnet letters and the magnetic dry erase boards to create CVC words and sight words. Students have used the magnetic dry erase boards (the side with handwriting lines) to write the alphabet, sight words, and simple sentences. The gel writing boards seem to be the students' favorite. My students have used the gel writing boards in Reading class as well as writing addition facts in Math class. The uses for these items are endless! My students and are very grateful for generous donations allowing us to have these supplies in our classroom. Thanks again!”

Preventing With Plexiglass
Funded Sep 4, 2020Thank you so much for donating to my Preventing with Plexiglass project. I received my items as you can see if the photos. I inserted educational material to be put inside the plexiglass. I chose the alphabet and numbers 1-20 because the students can utilize these all year long. The plexiglass is used as a divider to keep students' materials and germs separated. Currently we are doing online learning, but I can't wait for my students to see theses when they come back to school. It is gracious people like you that help students get the most out of their education. Thanks Again! Mrs. S. Bauer, Kindergarten teacher at S. St. Marys Street Elementary School in St. Marys, PA.”

High-Tech Kindergartners
Funded Mar 30, 2013My class and I would like to thank you for your gracious monetary donation for the iPad for our classroom. We use the iPad each and everyday to help enhance our Kindergarten lessons. We use it to help us to learn to read, add, and even subtract! The iPad is used by all of the 26 students in our class. Even the students who have special needs appreciate using the iPad.
With the constant financial strains on our country and budget cuts, it is great to still be able to get much needed technology for our classrooms. It's great people like you that make this possible! I have told many people about donorschoose.org and about all of you who have supported our class.
We appreciate all you have done for us to allow us to have this iPad to use in our classroom everyday! THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!!”
