  • Spreading Kindness One Friendship Pin at a Time

    Funded Apr 14, 2025

Thank you very much for your help in fully funding this KINDNESS project. My students were very surprised when the boxes arrived with beads and safety pins inside them. Little did they realize that when we first opened the boxes, the impact these KINDNESS pins can (and will) have on the college students and other people as we begin to create and share them during the month of April as well as when we go to wish our college student neighbors BEST WISHES with the card and now an added KINDNESS pin in May during their final exam week.

Please enjoy the pictures of the first day that we started creating the pins. My students loved the ability to create many different pins within the first 10 minutes on Friday 4/25.

Currently we are collecting the completed pins so we will have an abundance to hand out when we visit our college friends in May.

**We actually are also able to take a moment to make pins for the staff to show our appreciation towards them. My students will be able to see teacher reactions of genuine gratitude for these creative acts of KINDNESS.

Thank you again with the funding for this project.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Minichino

  • Financial Literacy to Prepare Us for the Future

    Funded Mar 7, 2025

Thank you for agreeing with me on the importance of Financial Literacy academics as an important need for my grade 4 students. By using Financial Literacy activities to help prepare my students for their future, your very generous donation that helped put us across the funding finish line helped tremendously.

Now I will be able to use these items to help promote how accuracy is imperative in a math class through the use of these Financial Literacy materials.

Let's face it, when we are able to sprinkle topics of money and use it within the lesson, everyone's interest is peaked. Now, by actually having authentic money skills and concepts available at their fingertips,,,,, this is a game changer!

I'm looking forward to being able to include real resources that will show my students first-hand, the importance of money through these Financial Literacy concepts.”

  • I'm on My Way to the Top! Class of 2025

    Funded Dec 26, 2024

I would like to thank each and every one of you that have helped make this project complete! We will be using the books "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" as our goodbye yearbook. Each student will be able to have their book personalized by each member of our classroom as well as staff in our school. I will be adding a picture of the student in the front of the book followed by an adorable personalized artistic graduation cap with their name on it and other special information that has a special meaning to our classroom in the back of the book. I also will be adding a smaller artistic graduation cap with all of their classmate's names on it as well. This way they can remember the names of their classmates. Inside the book, each student will have the opportunity to write a small yet important message as a 'send off' for each other.

This is such a fun way to share the memories of our time together, especially since our grade 4 scholars all leave and go onto other schools for 5th grade.

I plan to have the students start writing in the books towards the end of May 2025. Keep an eye out for pictures..... Until then -- THANK YOU!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Minichino

  • Pickleball team work for the WIN!!

    Funded Oct 16, 2024

Thank you very much for helping this PICKLEBALL project cross the funding finish line. We are very lucky that the weather has been in our favor where we live. We have started practicing ball and paddle control and look forward to the day we can set up a court on the playground.

My students are enjoying the moments we take out of academic class learning time to practice paddle and ball control. I enjoy listening to the encouraging phrases my students say to each other as they informally cheer them on while learning basic skills that are needed to play pickleball. My students are quick to learn the value of teamwork through this sport. I appreciate their informal encouragement that they share with each other.

Yes, I call this a Win Win WIN!”

  • Pouches for Organization

    Funded Oct 13, 2024

Thank you very much for helping to provide these helpful organizational tools to help with student material and supplies. Providing each student with various sized mesh zippered bag, has helped keep their student supplies neat and organized. There were even a few extra of the large sized bags to store away some of their needed supplies for the near future. The smaller sized mesh bags are perfect to hold their individual white board, Expo marker, and eraser, thus providing an easy 'go-to' baggie to use when we start our daily math activities.

The smaller sizes and ideal to hold base 10 (single) units as well as 10 stick rods. These handy baggies of manipulatives makes independent small group work easy to set up, clean up, and maintain.

*Thank you for helping this DonorsChoose project become a reality during my grade 4 math classroom time.”

  • I'm Done, Now What Can I Do?

    Funded Oct 3, 2024

Thank you very much for helping to fully fund this "I'm Done, Now What Can I Do?" project. My fast finishers now have another resource that they can challenge themselves with during Independent as well as small group work time.

These resources will also provide collaboration among classmates as they work together to solve guided interactive student lessons within a small group.

My fast finishers love the challenge that these resources provide them. Another reason that these resources are liked by the students is that they all follow the same type of organizational setup which makes the flexibility of using the different subjects easy to adjust to.”

  • I'm All Set for My White Board Work

    Funded May 27, 2024

Thank you very much for helping this project become a reality. Now, all of my grade 4 students will have the ability to work using their small white boards during whole group instruction and small group differentiated time quickly without the worry that others will see their possible errors on the paper. Now, by using the white boards, they are quickly able to erase an error in order to edit their response.

These white boards come in handy multiple times each day during small group, peer group and also whole group learning time. We especially LOVE using them during morning math for quick start activities.”
