  • Our Future is Bright and So Are We!

    Funded Dec 12, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donations that made our write and wipe pockets and SunArt paper possible for our classroom! We have been using our write and wipe pockets all the time. The students use them for taking notes, reusing activity pages, drawing, completing math lab activities and so many more things!

We use the pockets to turn any kind of printed material into a reusable sheet that we can use again and again. This makes it so easy to review material and make corrections. A simple worksheet that would be boring with just paper and pencil becomes a fun activity in a write and wipe pocket with a colorful dry-erase marker!

The pockets are ideal for work stations and group work! Thank you for brighting up our classroom activities! We can't wait to use the SunArt paper to show how chemistry allows us to make awesome images on the paper using sunlight.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Aronowitz

  • Bring on the Bubble Bonanza!

    Funded Mar 20, 2019

Thank you so much for proving my students with this amazing science kit! We had so much fun exploring what bubbles are and how to make them.

My students love learning about Science, and I love teaching hands-on STEM activities! This Bubbles Kit from AKJ Education, was so awesome! It came with all the materials needed for my students to explore the various properties of materials to plan, design, and engineer bubble wands! The kit included teacher lesson plans that engaged students through the Engineering Design Process. They asked questions; they imagined what they could create to solve each question; they worked with their partners to plan how they would solve the posed problem; they then created their bubble wands and evaluated their success rate; Finally, they analyzed their wands and came up with plans on how to improve their bubble wands to meet their original goals!

My students all participated in these hands-on, engaging activities and were highly engaged and successful in completing the unit activities!

I think we all want to become 'Bubble Artists" when we grow up!!”

  • Help Us Manipulate our Learning!! Part 1

    Funded Oct 23, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donations!! With these materials I made Math Tool Kits for my whole class of second and third graders. The tool kits include Play-Doh, six dice in different colors, a deck of cards, a ruler, a set of small 3D shapes, and counters. I'm planning on adding new manipulative to our tool kids every year.

With our current tool kits the students use dice to add, subtract, and multiply numbers. They also create one, two, and three digit numbers with dice and identify whether they are even or odd.

We've even played with the Play-Doh and used it to fill ten frames, add numbers, and make multiplication arrays.

Thank you for making all this possible!!”

  • Growing Our Financial Literacy

    Funded Sep 1, 2018

Thank you for your generous donations! Since my class received these amazing growth mindset books we have focused on learning the differences between a growth mindset and a fixed mindset. I read these books to my students EVERY year and continue to support them with the idea of YET! The students read the different stories about characters developing a growth mindset. We then finish with the students using the play money again to change the child's story from the poem so that he ends up with more money in the end instead of less.

Thank you for making this opportunity possible for my students year after year!”

  • Jumping Into Sports to Keep Our Hearts Healthy

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donations!! The jump ropes, kickballs, and soccer balls were a big hit and much needed!! I love seeing my students and their peers getting healthy exercise and learning to play organized sports like kickball, soccer and jumping rope with others while outside on the playground. We have an awesome Peaceful Playground setup at our school, and we just needed some additional materials to take full advantage of the games, sports and activities available to our students. Thank you for making this possible!”

  • Learning in Color!

    Funded Aug 9, 2020

Thank you so much for donating to my project and providing me with a color printer to use for printing out hands on activities and materials for my students. This printer allowed me to send home color copies of multiplication activities to my students within the first couple weeks of school. I was also able to provide them with color posters for multiplication terms. As I prepare for our return to our classroom, I have printed out our class schedule, COVID-19 safety and health posters for the classroom, as well as individual sets of math manipulatives for the students that I will cut out and laminate for them. I am so excited to support my students and provide them with beautiful and colorful materials and resources to make learning fun both at home and in the classroom! I am now looking forward to providing my students with additional hands on materials for when we return so please consider donating to another one of my projects and supporting my wonderful students. Thank you for your generous donations and for making this possible!!”

  • We Won't Stress Out! We've Got This!

    Funded Mar 7, 2020

I am so thankful for these amazing resources! Due to the unexpected closure of my classroom due to COVID-19 I haven't been able to pass out the stress balls with my students or share the amazing books with them but I am planning on sending the stress balls home with them once we return to school in the fall. I am also excited to record myself reading each of the new books and sharing the recordings with my students and their families so that they can learn from and enjoy the books from home.

I know that the mindfulness books will also be so helpful when we return. I was already able to implement many of the activities during our distance learning time at the end of the school year and I can't wait to share more exciting activities with my students.

Thank you again for your generosity! I feel very blessed to have amazing supporters helping me provide valuable experiences to my students every year! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

  • ReActivating Recess!

    Funded Oct 19, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation of cardboard building blocks, LEGOs, high steps, and Minecraft games for my students. My second and third grade students love having so many additional options for recess time and I love to see them playing together!! Many students love to run and play at recess but others need a quiet break time from the activity in the classroom. The LEGOs, building blocks and Minecraft games allow all my students the opportunity to relax and enjoy recess how they want to!

Thank you so much for your continued support for my classroom and my students. I will be continuing to look for new ways to support my students both at school and at home!”

  • Growing Student Centered Learners in Our Garden

    Funded Apr 20, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donations! All of the students from my school have benefitted from the amazing garden and outdoor classroom resources!! My students were so excited to plant their own seedlings using the seeds, trays and soil provided by this project and love sitting at the benches in the garden. We also love looking out our windows and seeing the birds at the feeders and our wind chimes blowing. Your generosity as allowed my school to create a beautiful and thriving outdoor learning space accessible to all students! Thank you!

As we look toward a future of distance learning and more learning opportunities at home, I can't wait to show my students how to plant their own beautiful gardens and outdoor learning spaces. Thank you again!!”

My students are second and third and grade students who spend three days a week working one on one with their families and then the other two school days with me in our classroom. They are amazing children with a thirst for knowledge. We spend most of our days learning about history, science, math and language arts through hands on and small group activities. My school focuses on learning through classical education. Students are encouraged to play a major role in their personalized learning plan through goal setting and project based learning.
