Thank you for your support. My students and I appreciate you thinking about us. It is donors like you that help teachers daily in their classrooms. Without you my job would be difficult and the outcome of my classroom very different. Thank you again for taking that time to donate.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sanders

  • Four Schools Come Together and Strive to be Successful

    Funded Oct 2, 2017

My students were able to use the resources in our classroom to create projects aligned with our curriculum. These resources gave my students the opportunity to be creative while learning and in doing so they will be better prepared for their student internships.

Your donation is greatly appreciated and helped start our new program off with supplies. The students were able to participate in the application process which has helped them see and understand various resources available for teachers.

We can't thank you enough for your continued support and appreciate your kindness.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sanders

  • Overcoming, Creating, and Focusing on Success

    Funded May 14, 2016

    Dear Donors,

Words cannot express the magnitude of your donation to my classroom. With the art supplies purchases my students are given the opportunity to express their selves and really think about how the the information they are learning relates to the world around them. I have students that struggle to learn on an average school day these same students painted until the bell rang. Each time we use the watercolors they ask when we will be able to use them again.

The Kindle Fire tablets have also enriched my classroom. Not only have we used the tablets to read in class but also used them to make real world budgets where the students track their virtual spending. I feel that it is very important for students to see technology as a tool and not just for recreational use. We have to show students the advantages of using technology appropriately and as a tool to be successful in everyday life.

Your donation has allowed my students to experience learning in an exciting new way and will allow them to further their path towards becoming successful productive citizens.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sanders

My day begins passing out breakfast to my first period student. More than 80% of the students that attend my school qualify for free or reduced lunch. Working in an impoverished system means that a large amount of time is spend ensuring student's basic needs are met. How can I be mad if someone did not bring a pencil when they slept on the floor last night? How can I be mad at a student who does not have paper and their parents do not have any mode of transportation in a rural area with no transportation infrastructure? Focusing so much energy on meeting basic needs means that creative projects are usually left by the wayside due to funding issues. Students who are struggling readers when they reach high school are at risk of dropping out. My goal is to build the confidence of every student I teach by encouraging them, challenging them, and fostering their individuality.
