  • Turning Ideas Into Reality

    Thank you so much for helping me get a color printer for my classroom. On March 13, 2020, my school closed for Covid. We thought that we would be returning back to school within 2-3 weeks and those weeks turned into months and almost a year. We had to switch gears and teach our students virtually. This meant that we needed technological tools for the house including a printer.

    Luckily, this printer not only came in handy at home but I was able to bring it to the school when schools went hybrid: virtual and in-person learning. Having a color printer helped my students get handouts and activities in color which added more visuals and enhanced their learning.

  • Bring Color to Learning!

    Thank you for all of your support and contributions to my project. By helping me get the color printer, I am able to provide my students with handouts and worksheets in color that need that extra assistance. For example, I use the color printer to print out steps on how to solve math problems and use the color to highlight the steps so my students can see those steps clearly. Additionally, I use the printer to print out data reports to help identify the students' learning needs so I can create plans for instruction based on their needs. The color printer has been an advantage for both me and my students in their learning. Thank you for your help!”

  • Laptop for Distance Learning 2.0

    Thank you for your generosity and kindness in helping my project to get funded. With your help, I am able to have a reliable and effective computer that I can use with my students who I teach virtual and in person. We mostly are using online programs such as TEAMS, Kahn Academy, iReady, and Zoom. With the new computer, I am able to implement educational digital programs, create and post assignments, communicate with my students and their families, teach them on Zoom, and plan and find resources for instruction. With this computer, I am a more effective teacher, therefore my students are benefiting from my instruction.

My students and I have been doing distance learning since March. It has been a challenge for both of us. I have been using an old computer to teach my students remotely. I teach math, science, and social studies which are subjects that utilize many online programs. I realized that my current computer has been slowing me down. Many of the online programs need a faster running memory, especially Zoom. I found that my computer would have a bad connection so during our class sessions during Zoom, we would either disconnect or my students could not hear me. During my Zoom sessions, I am able to teach the math and science concepts so my students can understand the content. Because of the poor connection of my current computer, my teaching was less effective and efficient. I need a very good laptop to teach math, science, and social studies online, assign online lessons to my students, check their digital assignments, and communicate with my students effectively on a daily basis. Now, we started summer school for those students that regressed during distance learning or did not pass the subject for the school year. I will need a better laptop during summer school and the upcoming school year so that I can be more effective as a teacher. Please help fund my project so that I can teach my students with a more powerful computer.
