  • Keeping us Sharp and Creative!

    Funded Dec 30, 2018

Thank you so very much for generously donating to my project. Because of you we have nice sharp pencils and erasers. My students are able to use their creativity to design, rework and edit their art projects.

We love having nice new supplies in the middle of the year. Due to your donation, I have been able to challenge my students to improve their artistic ability and comprehension of line, value, shapes, texture and more!

Art is such a wonderful part of the school day for many students. Having access to supplies in our low-income district is a challenge. So please accept my sincerest gratitude for your support.”

    With gratitude,

  • Wait... We're Allowed to Draw on the Walls?

    Funded Sep 6, 2018

Thank you so very much for supporting my marker project. Our wall mural is so much fun. The student artists working on are so enthusiastic that they visit me each day and ask if we can paint the wall.

The other students in the school who walk past our mural each day are so talkative, and interested in our progress. They are pointing out different continents and asking their teachers questions about the Seven Wonders of the World. Many of the students share stories about where their families are from and either point them out or ask their teachers to located the country on our mural.

Our custodian was in the Navy and often comes out at talks to the students when they are painting and drawing the mural. He shares stories about the countries he visited while in the service. The students are fascinated by this, and really feel that our mural has become a community center piece in our school.

Thank you again for your wonderful support.”

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Henry

  • No Excuses! We Go to School Everyday!

    Funded Dec 31, 2017

Thank you so much for your incredible support! Because of your generosity my students and families can walk to a from school in the rain. Students have expressed their excitement to wear their blue poncho's to school in the morning, keeping them coming to school each day and learning!

Because of your generosity, my students and families find our school to be a nurturing environment that cares for the whole child. We are able to help our students who walk arrive and leave school dry. Connecticut has had a really long, tough winter, the ponchos have helped so much.

We have handed out about 30 alarm clocks thus far to students who are chronically tardy and have seen an improvement in their punctuality, teaching them this valuable life skill.

On behalf of my entire school community! Thank you! Your donation has truly made a difference.”

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Henry

  • Under the Sea... All Around Us

    Funded Nov 16, 2016

Thank you so very much for supporting my mural project! I can't tell you how grateful I am for your generous support. My students are so excited to add small details to our incredible mural.

As you can see, my students are working diligently on adding interesting details to our large mural. We have added little details like scales, gills, stripes and dots to all the creatures to enhance our mural. The students love that they can adjust the size of their lines and shapes by using different markers.

My students are so proud of what they have created. I plan to add a layer of polyurethane to protect our beautiful mural and ensure the longevity of our creation.”

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Henry

    Funded Nov 24, 2016

Thank you so much for supporting my project! I cannot thank you enough for your generosity! Thanks to you all my students will have a clear view of demonstration from the comfort of their seats.

I will use this document camera daily and can't wait for it to arrive!

Please know that because of you, I will be able to teach my students in a more productive, fulfilling way.”

  • Look At Our Artwork!

    Funded Sep 24, 2015

Let me start by saying a very big Thank you for funding my project. I can't tell you how excited the kids, teachers and parents are about how bright and colorful our cafe walls are now, because of you generosity.

The cork bulletin boards are hung and decorated. They are so large that I can display work for multiple grade levels. The kids walk into the cafe each week excited to see who's work will be displayed. I try to change the work as frequently as I can so that as many students as possible get the opportunity to see there work on show.

I can't wait to schedule a school wide art show to display the beautiful work my students create.”

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Henry

  • Our Very Own Art Gallery!

    Funded Aug 26, 2012

Thank you so very much for your generous donation! My students love their "Artist of the Month Gallery"! They talk about it in class and often discuss the images as they pass by in the hallway. They definitely work harder to try and be chosen as the Artist of the Month.

Our school and district are facing major financial troubles, but because of people like you our school has its very own art gallery, full of student work for all to enjoy!

Our hallways are brighter because of you!

Thank you for the bottom of my heart, I truly appreciate the support!”

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Henry

  • What's the Point?

    Funded Sep 3, 2010

I really can't thank you enough for the pencils, erasers and the sharpener! My students are so excited that they have access to nice new materials that they can use to be creative!

The pencils are such great quality, they will certainly last us a long time. We are so excited that we can actually have nice pointy pencils so that we can draw and shade our beautiful pictures.

Our district seems to always be cutting back programs due to financial issues, thanks to you I don't have to worry about having access to basic drawing supplies that are essential to being productive in the art room.

Once again, Thank you so very much, you truly made a difference!

    All the best,”

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Henry

  • Our Very Own Art Gallery!

    Funded Apr 16, 2009

Thank you so much for funding the frames for our Student of the Month Art Gallery. The gallery is up and running in the front hallway of the school!

Students, Parents and Visitors to our school pass the gallery everyday and have so many wonderful comments about the student work displayed in the frames. The students talk about the different pictures they see in the frames. They love to discuss the projects that other grades are working on.

I've had many parents stop by my room to comment on the student work in the frames. I've also had many students ask when they are going to get a chance to have their picture framed and in the gallery.

You've truly made a difference in our school, by funding these frames you've provided the students with the opportunity to take pride in their work and themselves.

    Thank you so very much”

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Henry

I teach art to students ranging in age from four to fifteen in an extremely poor neighborhood. This is the first time most of my students are experiencing art in an actual art room. Many of them have never had the opportunity to use paint or scissors and glue.
