  • Ready, Set, Play, Learn!

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

My students were so excited to have new games to play and I was excited to see them excited about something that didn't need batteries or a power source! Our school has had after school game time and these games were a big hit!

We use the games every week during library centers and any time when need a fun activity for some calm down time.

Some of my students have played these games before, but most don't play board games at home. Other teachers borrow the games for their classes, so it's great to house them in the library for the whole school to enjoy.

    Thanks again for your help!”

    Ms. Kemp

  • Read It! Vote for It!

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you so much for funding this project. We love reading and voting for our favorite is so much fun in the spring. We choose our favorite for our school and wait anxiously to see if our school voted the same as the other students in our state.

Our fourth graders have aged out of voting in the state contest for the Diamond Award, but they still enjoy reading the nominees. They also get to choose their winner for the Charlie May Simon Award in fourth grade and I have started using class time to share these chapter books and view book trailers to get them excited about new stories.

Thanks again for helping my students love reading!”

  • Think Like a Business Owner

    Funded Oct 2, 2023

Thank you so much for funding this project. Each week I post a question on the board outside the library. All week students posted their answer or solution to the problem. Some require them to do a little digging to find an answer or a solution to a problem. They post their answer on a sticky note and stick it to the board. On our Tuesday morning assembly, I reveal who go the correct answer or interesting solutions. The correct answers and most creative solutions get to pick out a poster or some other related prize. I also introduce the new Question of the week.

I love to see the students thinking about things that are not regular school things, but are helping their minds grow!”

  • Can You Hear Me Now?

    Funded Sep 4, 2023

Thank you so much for providing funding for this project. We did not have enough headphones for an entire class. With the project funded, now we do! We share our library space with our middle school students, so it gets pretty loud with everyone on their computers. We love getting on sites like Code.org and it just isn't the same without the music. We also use our Chromebooks for listening to audiobooks using sites like Epic. Without your kind donation, we could not fully use our Chromebooks and enjoy them to the fullest!”

  • Oh, The Places We Will Go!

    Funded May 14, 2023

Thank you for your wonderful gift. The maps will make a great addition to our story room and the books are checked out as soon as they are placed on the shelves. I am trying a new project with third and fourth graders where we see how many different states we can find as the settings of our favorite stories and see where those places are in relation to our little town in Arkansas.

The titles we received in this project show many great places to visit in the United States and this spring, I hope to teach a lesson where students plan to trip to one of these wonderful places.”

  • Look at My Story!

    Funded Apr 21, 2023

Thank you for your donation. This magnetic board and markers have been used so much since we received them last May. Although it didn't see much use then, it has been well-loved and well-used since school started in August. The extendable arms are great for displaying the students' artwork and perfect for leaving instructions for each day's lessons and activities.

The markers and pens have been a big hit since students usually do not get to use these tools. It is always fun to use markers and pens "like the teachers use" and this project 's materials means everyone gets a chance!”

  • Shine Bright With Arkansas Book Awards

    Funded Apr 18, 2023

Thank you so much for donating to this project. Our students love being a part of choosing the book that wins the state award every year. There are so many great titles this year, it hasn't taken much hype to get kids excited about these books!

I am trying to read so of the novels to the fourth graders so that they hear more of the choices. In previous years, I have only read one or two at the most, so this year, I am reading one or two a month. There are some great nominees for the CMS award, so they are always begging for one more chapter.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Kemp

  • Ready Player One!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so much for you donation. These games are enjoyed by my students. Its the perfect reward after a week of working hard. Most of my students haven't played these games, so this is a real treat to play games with friends. The students spend so much time on devices, I love to give them a fun alternative to more screen time. Once they played these games, they don't mind when the internet is slow or their Chromebook is losing its charge. Thank you again for providing these games that would not be otherwise available.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Kemp

My students need access to computers and many don't have a computer at home. We have 2 old desktop computers and one IPad. My students need to be prepared for living in the digital world. I need to prepare them now. We want to do group research and don't have the devices we need to do this. Chromebooks are smaller and fit our tiny hands. We have worked on our keyboarding skills and I am so impressed with the advances these kids have made! My students will be in college before I know it! I want them to be ready and if they need help in becoming proficient in using technology, I want to be there to help!
