• Graphic Novels will Get Us Reading

  Since this project was funded, my students from last year were able to enjoy them immediately as they arrived in our classroom. The new books helped launch a reading frenzy amongst my students...even the reluctant ones.

  Expanding our book collection reached more interests and all of my students. This year, we new class is slowly discovering the book options and learning to love books too.

• Kindness Books for the Kindness Kingdom

  Thank you so much for helping me bring this project to life in The Kindness Kingdom! We left last school with kindness in our hearts and my former class has carried that kindness into second grade!

  With these materials, I have launched the new school year in The Kindness Kingdom with daily lessons on kindness, compassion and empathy. My firsties are so kind and considerate. It makes our community so much stronger.

• Custom Cutting Boards & Sketch Books Inspired by Graphic Novels

  My students were so thrilled to hear that this project was funded. The Shark & Bot books were a student request after seeing the titles in another book. He felt so powerful to share the books with the class.

  After reading the graphic novels, we created a draft of an art project in the sketchbooks that eventually became our mom's day/nana's day/ bonus mom's day projects...custom cutting boards! We used acrylic paint markers and drew flower gardens for our special people!! This project allowed us to make an incredible keepsake and we are so grateful. Thanks.”

• Guided Phonics Builds Readers

  Tara West has created an amazing phonics resources to meet the needs of all students. For the last few years I have been printing out the resources as I needed them, but with the finding of this project that stops now! This amazing resource has arrived 100% ready to be used with students and I busted open the boxes and dove in with my groups today! My students loved all the hands on materials and they can't wait for groups tomorrow. Thanks so much for supporting me as I work to improve the future...one thinker at a time. • STEM Learning with the Science of Baking!

  Thank you so much for supporting our Science of Baking project!! First of all, we had a blast reading about Kathleen King and the launch of Tate's Bake Shop!! We wrote about her and her experience staring a company as a child.

  After reading and writing about Kathleen King, we learned about the science of baking ingredients. We learned about what each ingredient does in a recipe for chocolate chip cookies.

  At the end of our learning experience, we tried baking chocolate chip cookies in our Crockpot and we failed. The baking was incomplete. We wrote about this experience and tried again. We determined that for our first attempt, our bake temperature was too low. So we tried again. And the cookies were delicious. Thanks again for helping us experience this learning. We appreciate you.”

• Leap Day Time Capsules

  Thank you again for supporting our Leap Day Time Capsule project! We had a blast creating the time capsules to be opened in 2028 when students will be in fifth grade!

  We learned about the actual time it takes for Earth to orbit the sun! We also learned about what or who leaplings are!! We really had so much fun learning about Leap Day and making memories together.

  Decorating the tubes allowed all students the chance to show their personal favorites in 2024 which will be a fun comparison for them in 2028!

• Flashlight Readers' Club

  We absolutely love this project!! The books have caused a reading frenzy in First Grade!! Students are super focused on their learning tasks so they can get to reading from our new "Bad Guys" and "Dogman" sets!!

  Today, we read with flashlights for the first time and the room was SILENT!! Our very first Flashlight Friday was a HUGE success!!

• Strong Readers Are More Successful

  Thank you so much for supporting this project and bringing it to life! My students were thrilled to hear that their idea was being implemented!!

  Our reluctant readers are reading!! The class launched our 40 book challenge and established the expectations for each prize level. Students are working through a carefully designed list of books across genres and will receive prizes at set checkpoints along the way!

  Because this challenge was designed and launched by students, they are excited to participate in it! We are learning and growing because of this opportunity. Thanks so much.”

• Health and Wellness Help Us Learn

  Thank you so much for your support of Health and Wellness projects!! Keeping students healthy, keeps students at school and that keeps them learning.

  This project has allowed to address the physical health of my students as well as the mental health of my students. The Little Spot resources are truly amazing at helping students identify and improve their connection to their feelings and emotions.

  The wiggle stool is THE most popular seat in the classroom. Students love to wiggle while they learn and it helping them so much.”

• Lunar New Year and Decoding with OG+

  Today was the culmination of our week-long Lunar New Year Learning adventure. We had a blast. Reading the books, eating fortune cookies, and completing the activities in the Panda Express Activity booklet created a well-rounded learning experience and many memorable activities.

  We also benefit from our new OG+ literacy resources. We love the variety of skills covered and love the variety of activities.

  The support from Panda Express allowed me to bring Lunar New Year lessons to my class and the other classes in my grade level. We appreciate you. You have improved the future forever.”
