Funded Apr 10, 2025Imagine 32 excited fourth and fifth graders who are thrilled to come to school and work in book clubs. You are helping create a positive learning environment for our scholars.
One of the most impactful ways for students to grow as readers and nurture a love of reading is through the shared experiences of book clubs. Children develop literacy, critical thinking, and social skills when they participate in book clubs with their peers. Students can share experiences and better understand diverse perspectives through shared reading.
These books are relevant, high interest, and at the varied reading levels of my students, and they are the cornerstone to the success of book clubs.
I have found book clubs are the most effective way to get students to read both in and out of school. Countless times, students and parents have reported to me that my students meet with their book clubs outside of school to read and discuss their books. There is no better testament to the power of book clubs than that!
I believe in them! Thank you for believing in them too. We are changing the WORLD one scholar at a time.”

These gifts will benefit each of my students in the classroom. Every student will take a blanket home, and for some, this will help keep themselves and their family members warm. Others may be able to extend the warmth by sharing a blanket with a neighbor in need. These blankets will reach out into the community, giving students the opportunity to decide who they want to help. This small token can make a big difference for each family in my class.
They absolutely love these blankets! :)

I've Got a Golden Ticket!
Funded Feb 27, 2025Our classroom will look like we stepped into the pages of Roald Dahl's book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Thank you for helping my set the stage to engage!
Our first classroom transformation of the year! Mrs. Walther's Wonka Factory Week has begun. Each student will receive a golden ticket along with a Wonka folder that we used all week. We will review adjectives, verbs, and nouns. We made a list of adjectives to describe our lickable wallpaper (candy buttons). We will write an acrostic poem for the word CHOCOLATE! We will create a directed drawing of Mr. Willy Wonka, and we will finish our day with a cotton candy science experiment. That was just day ONE!
I BELIEVE in THEM! Thank you for BELIEVING in THEM too. We are changing the WORLD one student at a time.”
