  • Can You Hear Me Now?

    Funded Oct 3, 2020

Thank you so much for providing technology to my remote classroom that assists my students and me to hear each other clearly! The Bluetooth headset allows me to sync to my Google Meet and hear my students without me being up close to my computer. I can walk around my room and still hear the smallest whisper from a nervous student. I am still teaching remotely, but my set up has many wires everywhere. The ability I have with my new wireless headphones makes it so much easier to get ready every day and take breaks in between classes. The headphones are so comfortable I sometimes forget I still have them on at the end of the day. The silicone earbuds are extremely comfortable in my ears. I am teaching all day and I have these earbuds in and my ears do not hurt at the end of the day!

These earbuds have really made remote learning extremely more comfortable! I am so thankful for this amazing technology!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lennon

  • I Can See You Clearly Now!

    Funded Sep 8, 2020

Thank you so much for your donation! I never would have thought that my focus on student learning would rely so much on how my students could see me on video. I have found that it is so important that students can see me clearly. My facial expressions help articulate my enthusiasm for the content I am teaching about. If they can't see how excited I am they are not as excited.

Before I had a shadow on my face, but now with the light, you can see my face clearly! This ring light is so much easier on my eyes as well. Prior to this, I had a traditional desk lamp. This left me with a glare in my eyes from the light hours after teaching. The ring light has settings that allow me to turn it down, but still, illuminate my features! This has really helped!

The webcam's clarity is strikingly different than the built-in webcam on my computer. It allows me to do demonstrations in front of the camera and my students can see the precise features I am talking about now. I use stop animation with a group of students. I do a demonstration on how to set up areas and the intricate moves I make to create smooth stop motion videos. The demonstrations have greatly improved due to the clarity of the webcam.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lennon

  • Video Production in Middle School

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

I am writing this letter to thank you for your generous donation to our Donors Choose Project, Video Production in Middle School. Our classroom received an iPad, ring light, and lapel microphones with the help of your donation.

Before the iPad, we were using old video cameras, and the quality was grainy and dull. The iPad is so much clearer and bright. It also allows students to easily manipulate the green screen app and create polished presentations in a short amount of time. The ring light lightens up their faces while recording, which creates a more professional look. And last, the lapel microphones have been such a necessary addition to our set. "Our set" is actually a corner of the classroom filled with over 25 students hard at work producing their videos. The classroom can be very noisy, and the lapel microphones allow us to filter out the background noise and hear the students presenting.

This new equipment has accelerated my students' abilities and allowed them to create incredible videos!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lennon

Lights, camera, action! My middle school students are eager to experience what it would be like to create high-quality videos as they see on TV. During my coding and design class students create apps, websites, and animated games. The next step of their course is to produce a video that will advertise their creations. My students will produce video advertisements using the iPad, lights, and microphones. The iPad will be used to film the video and transfer the data to each student's google account for editing. The lapel microphones will assist with the sound quality of the students being recorded. The ring lighting will enhance the quality of light, especially in the green screen studio. This project will help students who are interested in going into the television production profession be college and professional ready.
