  • Civilians Involved in Government

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you so much for supporting my students. Students would not have these needed supplies if it was not for donors like you. As students research and learn about becoming productive citizens, they will be able to create visual boards to share their new knowledge. This hands-on, creative project will allow students to gain a superior understanding of the material.”

  • Snacks in Middle School

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation to this project. The snacks in the classroom have helped out the students in middle school who normally would go through the school day without eating anything. In middle school especially hunger comes with a stigma that forces many kids to avoid eating the free breakfasts and lunches that are available in school cafeterias. Students can feel embarrassed having to come to school early to go to a lunchroom before classes, or getting a free school lunch when their friends have packed lunches. My students were very excited to know that I was developing a snack pantry in the classroom. Students are able to get a snack throughout the day when they become hungry and can't concentrate in class because of this.”

  • Safe, Clean and Rewarding!

    Funded Sep 22, 2021

My students and I were so excited to receive our resources. The students were given the honor of unpacking all the boxes. As they unpacked the boxes I heard different students making comments. One student stated, "We will have the cleanest room in the school!" Another student excitedly said, "And we will be safe too!" With the number of Covid cases on the rise, students and I have been concerned about returning to school. It is a daily routine in my classroom to sanitize and disinfect several times during the course of the day. These resources will help us to continue this routine.

Also, we are entering the fall and winter months. As we all know, this is cold and flu season. Not only will sanitizing and disinfecting our room with these resources cut down on Covid cases, it will also help us to cut down on the spread of the common cold and the flu. We want you to know how your support is helping us. Students were excited to continue their cleaning routine with their new resources. I was excited to have the treats to reward my students for their attendance and hard work. Again, I want to say thank you for your support.”

  • Reading Ignites Dreams

    Funded Dec 18, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donations. Students have been spending time reading and completing book reports. Students have been making recommendations to other students. The books brought joy to my students. We are mandated to implement independent reading time in the class. Without books that student found interesting made it difficult to accomplish. Now that students have new and exciting books in the class library, everyone is able to find a book that interest them. Now during independent reading time you will find all of my students with their eyes on the pages of a book!!! Again, thank you very much for helping me bring the joy of reading to my students.”

  • Selfless Giving

    Funded Sep 13, 2018

I can't begin to express the joy that my students had when they received the blankets. They were super excited to know that the blankets came in time for Holiday giving. The first thing that one of the students said was, "These blankets are going to be the best gift ever!" They are so excited to wrap the blankets and give them to people that are less fortunate than them.

My students thrive on helping others. They are a group of students that want to help those that are less fortunate and have a difficult time meeting their daily needs. My students are very empathetic and kind hearted. They're always ready to lend a helping hand.

Thank you so much for helping us, to help someone else. You are greatly appreciated. You have helped us to help 60 people to wrap up in a warm blanket during the cold days in Chicago!”

  • Together at Tables!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Having tables in the classroom promotes more student to student interaction. The tables in the classroom have created a more collaborative environment for my students. Students are often engaged in collaborative activities. The students love sitting at tables and working together in groups. Students are able to work on projects together and support each other. Group competitions are also fun when the tables are pulled apart for group privacy. These tables will be appreciated by incoming students for years to come. Your support is greatly appreciated.”

  • Your Dreams May Seem Impossible Yet They Are Achievable!

    Funded Oct 19, 2017

The story-line of this book, Roll of Thunder, is a prime example of overcoming adversity. The students in my classroom come from neighborhoods and families where it appears that any hope of a successful life is unreal. My students need to understand that no matter where they come from or the color of their skin, nothing can hinder them from progress if they persevere. Through books, students are able to read about people that had all odds against them, yet they were able to achieve their dreams. It is my goal as a teacher to not only develop the love of reading with my students, but to also motivate them to dream and to go after their dreams. Thanks to you, my donors, my students will be able to read this book and know that they too, can persevere through adversity and obtain success. I know that they will be motivated after reading this heartfelt book. You have made this possible and I am so thankful for your support.”

  • Healthy Kids Are In School Everyday to Learn!

    Funded Oct 8, 2017

These products are helping to keep the germs under control in the classroom. There's no vaccine for the common cold, but with these products we are able to take common-sense precautions to slow the spread of cold viruses. We are using the hand sanitizer, disinfectant spray, disinfectant wipes and tissues to help combat against the spread of germs. The less germs, the less sick kids and this has lead to less absences from school. My class just won first place for having the highest attendance rate in the school. I have my donors to thank for this. The students and I have been making sure that we clean and sanitize our classroom daily. I cannot express in words the gratitude that I have. You have made it possible for the students and I to have a very nice, clean and healthy environment.”

  • Protect My Self-Esteem!

    Funded Sep 4, 2017

My students and I was so excited to receive all of our products. The products arrived the day after our class finished a social emotional lesson about self esteem. During the lesson students discussed how difficult it is to come to school and remain focused when personal needs are not being met. Students talked about how embarrassed a person can be when their clothes are not clean or they have hygiene problems. When I say that the entire class was excited, I mean they were excited! I was surprised when all of the students openly asked for a care package! They were eager to package up the items. Some even wanted to take care packages to siblings that also attend the school. I can not express the gratitude that I have for all of the donors that gave to this project. A group of my students spent time preparing care packages. We have packages that are being stored in the classroom that will be available when needed. We will also have packages that will be stored in the counselor and nurse's office for students that desire more privacy. Again, I would like to say thank you for your support and caring about the students in our class and school.”

  • Ready, Set, Go!

    Funded Aug 31, 2011

My students and I would like to thank you for your generous donations. We are enjoying having the Zoom Digital Microscope. In small groups, the students are able to view specimen on the computer screen. The microscope is small and easy for the students to use with no assistance.Students are able to get a close-up view because the specimen can be enlarged. I am enjoying seeing how engaged they are when they are using the handy tool. After viewing, the students love drawing the specimen in color. Thanks again for making learning so much fun.”
