  • Sharp Pencils, Kleenex, and Clorox, Oh My!

    Funded Dec 5, 2022

Thank you for providing us much needed extra supplies. It is really important that I keep my classroom clean, so we all stay healthy. That can be tricky at times with 700 students coming in each week, but you made is much easier by donating to my project! My students also have begun taking ownership by cleaning the instruments after they use them and storing them away. They love having a classroom job! We are also very appreciative of the poster boards you helped fund. We cannot wait to create projects with supplies like this that we don't normally have in our classroom. You made a difference in our classroom community, and we appreciate you all so much! Thanks for everything!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Uher

  • Building Up Books!

    Funded Dec 8, 2022

Thank you so much for contributing to our classroom and making social emotional learning books accessible to our classroom. We have a school wide goal to help students develop in social emotional learning, and now I can use these books with my 700 students and also share them with other staff members so they can teach it as well. The kids are so excited to have new books and have been enjoying our read aloud's together and are learning a lot about themselves and each other. I can't wait to see this new sense of community spread not only in my classroom, but all over our school. You have made a difference in the lives of 700+ students and we cannot thank you enough.”

  • Bright Notes for Bright Kids!

    Funded Nov 24, 2022

Your donations really made me smile, as well as my students! The students were so excited to have new sit spots for our risers and they were so excited about the colored pencils as well! The colors of the world crayons have made such a difference in our work! When we are coloring African American composers, we actually have the proper crayon for their skin color. The students were so excited and some said "This looks like my color skin!" Thank you for making them feel comfortable in my classroom and for helping us represent other ethnicities appropriately. The bookcase really helped our classroom music library and my students love taking a look at all the options we have. It is great to have some new stickers to reward good behavior with. Thank you for everything you have provided us. We are forever grateful.”

  • Music Magic for Mini Musicians

    Funded Aug 24, 2022

My students were over the moon when they saw all the new materials we had in music class. Having construction paper, markers, and crayons have made a huge difference in music class. We are able to color music coloring pages and extensions on lessons like drawing instruments. The students are so respectful with all of the new materials and they love to help me clean and organize after we use them. My students are also really enjoying the new books we have gotten. We love reading them together and creating sound effects with instruments to add to the stories. This donation has added so much joy into our classroom and we cannot thank you enough.”

  • Drumming Into 2022

    Funded Mar 9, 2022

My students use the drums every week with huge smiles on their face! We actually did a lesson today on African culture and how drums play a huge part in celebrations. We learned new drum patterns and everyone in my class had a drum to use. They worked so hard and I could tell they felt proud to be drumming together as a team.

When my students first saw the drums, their jaws dropped and their eyes grew large with excitement! I will never forget this moment, and I don't think they will either. They have treated the drums with respect and take care of them like they own them.

This year, we will be incorporating drums into storytelling for sound effects. I am going to encourage the students to use their imagination and create different sounds for sections of the books. For example, maybe there is thunder. How would that sound? They will respond by playing their example of thunder. The possibilities are endless and we cannot wait to explore more on our drums. Thank you so much for everything you have given my classroom. We are forever thankful and make music in your honor.”

  • Technology + Music= Happy Students!

    Funded Mar 26, 2010

Thank you so much for the wonderful donation you made to our school and most especially our students. We use the computers a lot in music class, but did not have any software for creating and listening to music. The students have already started writing their own compositions, and now they get to talk turns writing their ideas into actual pieces of music. They will also be able to share their music with the class, and do peer evaluations. The amount of classtime and energy that we will spend using this gift is really exciting! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!”

  • Choir Can't Be Seen, Only Heard...

    Funded Jan 8, 2010

I cannot believe how lucky we are do have the choral risers donated!!! This is like a dream come true for the singers in choir. We perform 2 concerts a year in the gym and we want them to be worth while! A lot of the singers get mixed in the crowd of vocalists and cannot be seen, just heard. Audience members are often leaning left and right and standing up to identify the soloists and other singers. Now, every singer's talent will be recognized, as well as their faces. The sound of the choir will drastically improve as well. I cannot tell you how grateful I am for this donation. These risers will be used for years to come. Thank you!!!!”

  • Music Matters!!

    Funded Jan 8, 2010

Thank you so much for your donation to our music classroom! When I told the music students, they were so excited! I cannot wait to implement all of our new instruments in the classroom. We just received some claves yesterday, and our students wer thrilled to be able to use them! You made a huge difference in our classroom for years to come. That is the best part about our donation, you have a lasting effect on students for years to come. We will be uploading pictures as soon as we get all of our instruments! I cannot wait to see the look on all of their faces. Thank you so much!!!”

  • Becoming Beethoven

    Funded Oct 4, 2009

I cannot even begin to tell you how much of a difference you have made already! As soon as I told my students that we were getting 5 keyboards, there was a HUGE cheer throughout the classroom! The kids are so thrilled, they are asking every day if they are here yet! They are already asking what songs they are going to learn, what songs they can add to what they know, and how many days a week we can play piano! Some of the students are so eustatic, that they are coming before and after school asking if they can practice once they get here. There are even students willing to give up their lunch periods to play! That is amazing. So are all of you! You made a difference in over 650 children this year, and more to come in the future! Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Uher

  • Maestro!!

    Funded Jul 2, 2009

I cannot even begin to tell all of you how grateful I am for your support and your donation. I cannot wait to use them with my students and see their faces light about with excitement! Last year, the students had wished that they all had their own conducting baton and their wishes have come true thanks to you! I am even moving my conducting unit up in the year so that we can use them as soon as possible. I cannot wait to start taking pictures of our little conductors in the classroom to upload and share with everyone. Again, thank you so much!”

Thank you for stopping by to read my proposal! I really appreciate your time to read through it! I teach grades 6-8 at a very low income school. I have five sections of general music during the day and then 2-3 days before school, I teach choir. There is a lot of interest in music among the students, but I do not have enough supplies to meet all of their individual needs.
