This classroom project was brought to life by Utah State Board of Education.Click 'Em...Snap 'Em... Pop 'Em Into Place!
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for coming in and funding not only our project but ALL the projects on the site! I was shocked and when I told the kids about your generous donation they were so excited. Lego's are their favorite thing in the entire school day. Every opportunity they can get to create with them they ask for it. We have used them for STEM activities as well as just some free creative play. Since we living in a state where there is snow, we have a lot of inside recess and Lego's are the most popular option and I love seeing the creativity and teamwork that it inspires in my students. We will be enjoying the fun they provide for years to come.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Ripple.Take A Look! It's In A Book! A Chromebook!
Funded Oct 12, 2017Thank you so much for providing our class with 4 chrome books. We are now that much closer to being a one to one classroom. We use the chrome books, multiple times a day, everyday. Each morning the students use the chrome books to complete their digital journals, as well as using chrome books during math to complete assignments, play games, and take fun assessments. The chrome books are used during STEM to help design challenges as well as to learn how to code.
Having the chrome books is just exciting all in itself. The kids are more engaged any time the chrome books are involved in the day to day activities in the classroom. They are most excited to used the chrome books for coding and STEM activities. They also love using them to review concepts in math, reading, and science.
The students that have particularly warmed to this technology would be my academically lower students. Using this technology levels the playing field for them and also gives them even more support to be successful. Also my quieter students brighten up and participate more when there is technology involved.
Thank you for your contribution to our classroom and hope you consider donating to a project in the future.”

Ms. Gregory
Chrome(books) Are The New Black
Funded Jan 17, 2017Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom. The kids were so excited to get the Chromebooks. We have used them every day to enhance our learning and growing.
We have used the Chomebooks to do research, create projects, and communicate with the world around us. The students are currently using them in several ways, using google docs to type up their Mother's Day projects and they are also working on research for their opportunity to teach the class something they are passionate about.
Your contribution has really blessed our classroom. Thank you!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Google.org and one other donor. You Say Legos. We Say Lego. We Just Need Some!
Funded Oct 13, 2016Thank you so much for your generous donation! We have been using our Lego's every chance we get. The kids were so excited to open the packages and dump them into the containers we had saved just for the Lego's. They all wanted to pull a part the boards that came with them and they couldn't believe we had 5,000 pieces of Lego. Their fingers were itching to get their hands on them. The first day we had all of the materials I promised the children that if they got all of their work done they could use the Lego as toys and not tools to just build whatever they wanted. They were so well behaved that I gave them over an hour to play. They had so much fun creating and imagining. It is so rare to see the ALL work so hard and quietly for that amount of time with no one being off task.
We are currently in the middle of a STEM project that requires the students to create simple machines in the form of a Lego Pinball game. The students have already planned and drawn out their designs. They are going to use two different types if "pinball's" to use in their machine. They are in the beginning stages of building and critical thinking to solve problems they didn't anticipate in their drawing/plans. They are all so excited to complete their machine and spend time playing their classmates creations.”

Help Us Get Lost in Our Books
Funded Dec 29, 2014The day I wheeled in the huge boxes filled with tiny kid furniture was such an exciting day. The kids saw the boxes and their eyes lit up with excitement. A we opened them they couldn't wait to get in them and open up a book. At first the kids were afraid that the chairs were too small but I assured them that they would fit. We got the small brown chairs first and the kids loved them. Then the big blue chairs with the ottomans arrived and they couldn't contain their want to be in the library.
With the popular demand of the new reading furniture there was a need for a sign up sheet. Every Monday the kids could sign up for the chair of their choice for the week. During the 30 minutes of silent reading time they were the lucky ones who got to sit in the chairs.
These chairs have been a wonderful addition to our library and the classroom. Everyone, adults and children alike, who walks in our classroom comments on the chairs. During parent teacher conferences siblings run to sit in the chairs and pull out a book from the shelves. It has enhanced my students love of reading. We sincerely thank everyone who donated. This has been an amazing experience and one I know we will all remember for years to come.”
