I am incredibly excited to incorporate these books into some of my lessons and I know my art students will love getting to read them. Art Magazines for the Art Room!
Funded Oct 14, 2020This subscription to Scholastic Art Magazine has been a great addition to my classroom. I have been able to tie many of our art projects to real-world examples by using the articles, interviews, etc from Scholastic Art magazine.
Many of my students have enjoyed reading these articles and it has allowed my students who wanted to learn more about specific art topics. The magazine's digital subscription has additional features for students so that they can read along with a narrator or they can read at their own pace, giving my students the opportunity to grow and learn at their own level.”

Art Room Library
Funded Jan 5, 2014Thank you so much for your donation to my Art classroom. You're donation to buy books for my classroom library in Art, has made a big impact on many of my lessons.
Students have studied artists and created reproductions of artwork based off of the artists covered in our books. Many of my students enjoy looking and reading through the different sections of the books as they finish their work, which helps to increase their love of art and reading (not to mention their non-fiction reading skills)!
We have used the books not only to study artists, but also the Elements of Art and how to look at artwork to pick these Elements out. We work on discussing how and why an artists did what they did and your donation has truly helped increase the amount of exposure the students get to this information. Since I try to use Art as a way to encourage students to look at the world around them and to promote understanding, these books allow the students one more way to truly broaden their worldview.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Disney and 4 other donors.Don't Look Now! We're Learning in Art Class.
Funded Dec 20, 2012This is a note to let you know how much I appreciate your donation to help my classroom gain two Chromebooks. As soon as the Chromebooks were ready to use, my students began using them in class to access images, write stories/poems to accompany their artwork, watch videos, and create artwork online.
One project we did, the students wrote a story and then illustrated it. A Junior High student was struggling getting his ideas on paper, but when I let the student type his story on the Chromebooks he was able to focus and get it completed.
Students have also used the Chromebooks to access videos for the project we are working on. For example finding a video with a more difficult origami piece to work on, allowing me to work with students who need assistance.
I have enjoyed having the Chromebooks in my classroom to allow students to access images for their artwork and/or to create their own work using different websites. The Chromebooks have just truly improved my classroom and I appreciate all the help getting them.”
