Technology Savy Students
Funded May 6, 2014Thank you so much for your beyond generous donation! Words can't describe how appreciative we are. My students were ecstatic when we told them we were getting iPads! Once they came they could not wait to start using them! We've been working on a research project during our literature circles for the book, The Sign of the Beaver. The iPads and tablets make the research much more interesting and fun! They are able to conduct research, take notes, watch videos, and collaborate together with the iPads. They really make a huge difference in our instruction. The student are able to be more independent and are highly motivated to build their knowledge during their research. We are also trying to get a RAZ kids subscription so that they can build their independent reading skills using the tablets.
Thank you so much for helping me create a motivating and effective learning environment for my students!!”

Reading and Social Studies Comprehension Through Literature
Funded Nov 23, 2013Thank you all so much for your generous donation! Your continued support in my students education is beyond appreciated. Without your help, my students would not have all the additional resources they need to meet the common core standards. The Sign of the Beaver allows us to provide our students with the opportunity to engage in purposeful reading, to learn history and explore the fiction and nonfiction components of this text. My students took a great interest in this text. Through this text, we were able to incorporate two curriculum areas into one- social studies and literature!
Thank you so much for your support and interest in helping my students achieve academic success!”

Printer for the Classroom
Funded Aug 25, 2013Thank you so much for your generous donations! Having our own classroom printer makes a world of a difference! My students love having a printer in the classroom. They are provided with so many more educational resources. I love technology, so I can always find great resources in a pinch, or create my own support materials that I know will greatly benefit and aid my students learning.
We use the printer to print scaffolded worksheets, graphic organizers, support materials, and homework, as well as, many other resources for our students. It makes it much easier to support our students when we can easily print a graphic organizer or an extra worksheet. My students also use the printer to print their notes when they type on laptops or to print their research.
This printer has boosted my teaching by allowing me the ability to create support materials for my students to use during classroom instruction. We are able to make copies of student work and parent letters. My students are provided with the support materials they need to achieve academic success.”

Kidney Activity Table for Small Group Instruction
Funded Aug 13, 2013Thank you so much for your generous donations! My students LOVE the "blue table" (as they call it). They love meeting me there for small group instruction, I'm pretty sure they feel special being able to sit there! They even ask me to sit there on their own when they feel they need to concentrate better. We are the only fourth grade classroom that has this special meeting area and it really does make a big difference!
We use the blue table for small group instruction. My students and I work there for math and reading. My ESL students also meet with their provider at the blue table. It makes it much easier for the ESL teacher to push in because she has her own space to work with her students. We also use the blue table for testing. My students that recieve questions read on tests meet there so that I can read to them.
This table boosted my teaching and my students learning by enabling, me as the teacher, to pull a group quickly without disrupting the other students. It makes transitions flow better. We have 30 students and 3 paras. The blue table helps create a more effective and functional classroom environment. Something so simple as a table can make all the difference for a teacher! My students now have a space where they can concentrate better and receive the support they need in a comfortable environment!
Thank you so much for your continued support and devotion to education!”
