  • Building a Culturally Responsive Library!

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Thank you so much for your support and generosity. Your kindness has enabled us to fill our library shelves with culturally relevant texts! Our students now have the opportunity to read and meet diverse characters! The books that you helped us get will provide opportunities to read "window" and "mirror" books--specifically, books in which they can learn about others as well as books in which they see themselves. Our students will be able to relate to the character (mirror) or learn from the character (window). Thank you SO much! This project holds a lot of meaning for us!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Jezycki

  • Works of Literature With Storyworks!

    Funded Jan 31, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations! Your support to our classroom allows my students to have the materials they need to succeed. By having Storyworks magazine for each of my students, they are able to enjoy exciting authentic texts that are engaging and fun. Your generosity has given my students the opportunity to read authentic, meaningful texts that they can relate to. Reading comprehension allows the reader to interact with the text and have a meaningful experience with literature. Research has shown that comprehension is enhanced when students read stories they are interested in and can relate to the characters. Storyworks provides readers with the opportunities to read articles and stories that are enjoyable as well as educational. We hope to inspire kids to love reading and learning with resources that reflect their lives, interests and identities.”

  • Let's Get Organized!

    Funded Sep 30, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donation! Your support to our classroom has allowed to organize all of of our books, files, miscellaneous papers. In addition, my students are able to organize their materials so that they are easily accessible.

One of the most BASIC needs of young writers is the tools to write! Your donation helped us to provide our students with supplies. The erasable pens, markers, paper, magnets, vinyl, and binder rings and hooks to help create charts and notes, and to help revise & edit, organize, and plan our writing.

In addition, today, 5th graders are expected to annotate complex texts, write different kinds of essays, write news reports and stories! The level of their writing is going to be pushed this year as we prepare them for middle school. In order to feel empowered, they need the necessary tools to make writing feel fun and easy!

Most of my students truly enjoy writing and love giving each other feedback to improve- we need your help for ALL of our students to feel empowered to write!

We use the TAG protocol to help empower and motivate each other to have a growth mindset to do our absolute best! Thank you SO much for giving our students the basic tools in the hands of each child to give them the necessary supplies needed to succeed in writing class!”

  • Incentives for our Scholars!

    Funded Jan 31, 2022

Thank you so much for your continuous support to my classroom. Your donations to our project Incentives for Our Scholars allowed our students to be rewarded for their hard work and effort. The incentives helped to motivate our scholars to persevere and keep going when it got challenging. They loved the water bottle stickers, mochi squishy animals, and mini-notebooks, The mochi squishy animals were such a fun incentive. We had an entire adoption ceremony, adoption certificates and even built them little homes. It was so nice to be able to recognize students who make good choices and reward them with prizes that they will enjoy. Your generosity allowed us to motivate our students to achieve academic success. Our students became more self-aware of their efforts and progress. The rewards helped our scholars develop a sense of pride!”

My students are all amazing! Getting to know your students throughout the year is one of the most incredible experiences. They come into your classroom in September and we're all a little nervous. A lot of new things are happening. But, once they see that they're in a safe learning environment their personalities start to show and before you know it, it's like we've known each other forever. Each of my students are special and unique in their own way and I want to make sure I can give them the individual attention they need to succeed! My goal is to enable my students to achieve academic and social success!
