I teach a classroom of 20 third and fourth graders at a rural, public charter school. We incorporate place-based and project-based learning into our daily activities. All of our students come from different communities and backgrounds. We create a family within the walls of our classroom. Our students are encouraged to apply their learning in new and innovative ways every day. My students love to learn and are constantly surprising me with their creativity. They are genuine and are learning to ask the right questions and to search for information. Project-based learning has allowed them to become critical thinkers and embrace their education.
