My students are struggling readers that range from Kindergarten through fifth grade. Many of my students struggle in reading due to attention and home life issues. Several of my students are English Language Learners or are currently in the RTI process receiving interventions in the effort to get them on grade level. They have a difficult time sitting still in hard chairs and need opportunities to get their "wiggles" out. Students need an alternative. I've started the process of providing alternative seating by lowering a table so students can sit on the floor and by trading desks for tables. But I want to take it a step further. I believe Hokki Stools are the perfect addition to my classroom to keep my students actively learning.
