Extra! Extra! Read All About It!
Funded Sep 16, 2020Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. Your donation allowed us to purchase Scholastic News Magazines. These texts are current and engaging magazines that feature kids just like my students. They give us another opportunity to practice our learning in a new and different way.
Due to the pandemic, our school had to move to remote learning for part of the year. Your contribution towards our Scholastic News subscription included online elements and texts that my students were allowed to access even from home. They loved watching the videos and learning about the interesting topics.
From important people, to wildlife, to kids doing great things, Scholastic News has brought so much to our reading time each week. Without you, this engaging experience would not be possible. Thank you so much for your support.”

Funded Jul 21, 2019Thank you so much for your support of our classroom. The Math Stackers that you helped us to purchase have been a HUGE hit! Students love them!
We were recently able to use them to better understand the concept of multiplication. Students could see that building a stack of 4 2-blocks was the same height as an 8 block. This was a great visual to represent what we were learning about multiplication and its relationship with addition.
It has been so exciting to watch as the math concepts we've been learning come to life while students build and explore. Thank you again for your generosity!”

Funded Jul 19, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students were beyond thrilled to see box after box of books be delivered to our classroom. They couldn't wait to get their hands on them.
Second grade faces many challenges when it comes to reading. Students enter our classroom anywhere from little to no exposure to texts to proficient chapter book readers. The struggle comes when you want everyone to be able to have access to a book they will want to read and love from the moment they enter the classroom. We know the only way to become a better reader is to practice reading!
This grant met that need! Because of your kindness and generosity, books were in the hands of every student, from non-reader to reader, from day one of school! Through repeated reads and exposure to multiple texts, ALL students have begun to show reading growth. Even my lowest readers say reading is one of their favorite parts of the day. A large part of that is due to you and your donation. Thank you for helping me create readers!”

Mrs. I.
Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Writer
Funded Aug 26, 2017Thank you so much for donating to our classroom. The excitement began the day the boxes were delivered. Everyone was so excited to see new materials coming to our classroom and they were even more delighted when they found out that those materials would be in their own hands!
Students had already had some experience "making books" and being authors, but we were just using copier paper that had been stapled together. They felt so much more official when they discovered they would be publishing their writing in real books!
One of their continued favorites is the bags for books that were donated. They are so sturdy and colorful and are a part of my students wherever they go. They don't just hold books, but they also allow us to bring our books on the go!
Your generous donation has allowed my students to make a very real connection between their reading and writing. Thank you again for your thoughtfulness.”

Library Under Construction
Funded Aug 17, 2013Thank you so much for your kind donation. My students love the resources. One of the most exciting parts of their day is when they get to choose a cushion and curl up with a book they've chosen. It has made silent reading a very special time in our room.
The generosity of your gift has also made books more accessible to my students. The new book boxes have helped organize and sort our library so that each student is able to find something they are excited to read.
Without donors like you, these simple pleasures may not be part of our class routine. Thank you so much for giving and for supporting our classroom.”

Funded Feb 21, 2013Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. We were able to purchase several different sets of photo cards for my students to use with a variety of activities. These cards have become part of our daily routine and are helping my students develop essential language skills.
These cards allow me to facilitate student academic practice so that ALL students are participating and have the opportunity to gain mastery of several different objectives. The photos make this practice engaging and fun for every student in my classroom. Thank you again, your kindness is truly appreciated.”

Funded Dec 20, 2010Thank you so much for donating to our classroom. Thanks to the materials you helped us purchase, we have already started our journey to become great writers.
My second graders have often seen writing as a chore; however, because of the engaging materials that your donation provided, they are excited about being writers. They love using the spacers and can't wait to make their own "real book." Having the right supplies makes them feel like official authors, and does so much for their motivation and interest.
Thank you for seeing our need and going above and beyond to meet it. Your donation has already made an impact this year, and will continue with future students. Thank you again for your generosity. ”
