Let's Get Reading: Creating a Comfortable Classroom Reading Corner
Funded Dec 12, 2019The impact that your donation made on our classroom was felt immediately! As soon as my students entered the room and saw their new reading chairs, they quickly rushed to sit in them! They were thrilled to be able to sit in comfortable chairs during silent reading time as well as during instruction. Many students feel very constricted and limited by traditional student desks, so this flexible seating option provided a positive change for my students. The chairs were so popular that I had to ensure students were taking turns using them each class!
The books your donation provided were an incredible addition to our class library. My students immediately began looking through the new texts as soon as I had them out on the bookshelves. They were particularly drawn to novel The Hate You Give. Several students immediately asked to check out the new books to take them home to read. As a teacher who constantly struggles to make reading interesting and engaging to my high school students, this was an incredibly meaningful moment!
The positive addition your donation made to our classroom is immeasurable. It is such a wonderful thing to see students eager to pick out new and current books that excite them. I got so much joy from seeing my students comfortably curled up in their new chairs, reading current and interesting texts during sustained silent reading. The impact that your gift has had on my students' lives is incredibly powerful, and I thank you for your thoughtfulness and generosity.”

Funded May 6, 2015Thank you so very much for the amazing gift you provided for my classroom! The document camera that your generous donations supplied has had a tremendously positive effect in my classroom.
My students benefit from the use of the document camera on an almost daily basis. We use the document camera to annotate various types of literature, including poetry and passages from novels. Additionally, I use the document camera to help students through the writing process. With the use of the camera, I am able to clearly model brainstorming, outlining, and drafting for my students.
My students are so thankful for the camera. They were thrilled when I told them our project had been funded, and they were so excited when we set the camera up! They truly appreciate the benefit the camera has in the classroom, and I have seen significant improvement in their writing now that I can model so clearly for them. The vast majority of my students are visual learners, so providing them with clear visuals is a key component in ensuring their academic success.
Again, my students and I are so very grateful for your generosity. Thank you for caring and supporting my students and their education!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Morgan
