Self Regulation is Positively Correlated to High Achievement

Low-SES students experience many situations that usually affect their performance in the classroom. Compared to other students within the same area, the resources they are provided need to be directed to more critical areas (reading and math development skills). However, those factors can aggravate the fact that they are less likely to obtain the necessary supplies. The lack of focus on psychological well-being is caused by other priorities previously mentioned. Unfortunately, anxiety, depression, ADHD and other psychological disorders are more typical in certain populations. Students in other districts (high SES) have the resources and the support when it comes to the development of a better emotional quotient
