  • Help Keep Our Essentials Stocked

    Funded Feb 11, 2025

Wow I am blown away by the generosity and support this donors choose received in such a short amount of time. The students and myself appreciate this so much. I am excited to give the students the new supplies and for them to continue to create the amazing work they do!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Seagriff

  • Technology Cart

    Funded Sep 21, 2022

I cannot thank you enough for the technology cart. It literally takes less than 3 minutes for students to get their iPads now and get to work. Additionally, their devices are charged and ready to be used. This has brought independence to the students and an opportunity to learn how to be responsible for their own equipment. Students realize the importance of charging their iPad now and this has left very little room for needing to charge during instructional time. This cart has brought organization and efficiency into our classroom. The kids and I appreciate your donations to this so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Seagriff

  • Reading is Power!

    Funded Apr 16, 2018

I cannot thank you enough for picking Pre-K 1 when selecting a classroom to donate to. Looking back at September and how much needed to be done, it is clear to see that we have exceeded our goals and you have helped in doing that! Pre-K is a wonderful time for exploration and discovery but it is also a very important time to instill the value of reading. Language and exposure has been a huge focus within the classroom and having additional books has helped in executing this vision.

I wanted these new books in order to better the student's understanding of holidays and important people. Since receiving the books I have been able to do lessons on history and fiction vs. non-fiction with greater understanding from the students. More students are now choosing to go into the library and re-read the books you've provided them with. The students are gravitating toward these books and showing tremendous interest in learning about holidays (even those that they do not celebrate), people, and historical events.

During center time many students pretend to have a class in front of them and read to them as if they are the teacher. More students are beginning to pass their finger under words as they read from left to right. The discuss the importance of books and how to care for them.

Thank you again from all the students in Pre-K 1!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Seagriff

  • Lets Get Ready to Explore

    Funded Nov 14, 2017

I cannot begin to describe to you how appreciative we are for your donations in helping our classroom become more hands on. The morning after the donations had arrived the students could not wait until centers to explore the new materials. When explaining why there were new materials in each center one student said "that was so nice, tell them we love them". The packages came around the time when the students were learning about gratitude and appreciation which was perfect! Your kindness has really made such an impact in the classroom and I really cannot thank you enough!

The story books have really given us more opportunities to look into the units of study. We are now able to read more than one book a day about transportation, feelings, communities, etc. Our library is inviting and catches the eyes of all the students, we have you to thank for that! The dramatic play area is being utilized properly now that the students have a "kitchen table". Everyday they invite students to eat at their "house". The mini white board was a fabulous addition to the "all about us" unit because we were able to include a classroom in our dramatic play as you can see from the pictures. The biggest hit was the MAGNA TILES, these were truly what we needed in the classroom. Students who did not really engage with other students were now collaborating and building wonderful things. One student who had a difficult time engaging in just one center has now found his calling. These were such a great addition to our math manipulative area.

These are just some specific moments/examples because everyday the students are using the materials you have donated. Going forward the students will be using the other books that were in the packages about transformation, babies, light, water, and plants. The pediatric nurses outfit will go into the dramatic play center for units 8-10. These materials have and will continue in helping each unit become more meaningful in the centers. Since receiving the packages my para and myself have noticed a big shift in how the students are carrying out what they learned during whole group into their centers.

You have made a huge difference in these student's school day and education. Your kindness is incredible and Pre-K 1 was very fortunate to have special people like you contribute to our classroom. We thank you so very much from the bottom of our hearts!

    Sincerely,

Ms. Owen, Mrs. C, and the students of Pre-K 1”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Seagriff

Pre-K 1 is full of energy and in order to further their learning we need the appropriate supplies in all the centers. The costumes will help them act out what the unit is teaching them. One of the tables will be in dramatic play so students can have dinner parties, set up a post office, and eventually create a hospital for new born babies. The other table will allow students to practice with play doh. The radio and audio books are a great way for students to begin "reading" on their own. Four year olds learn so much through picture books therefore supporting texts will guide their learning. Puppets give students a friend to "read" books to. The supplies I have selected are going to assist their learning in all areas.
