The Big Comfy Reading Nook

My students were so excited to begin 5th grade with a couch in the classroom! Since September, it has served as a comfy spot to read during our Daily 5 reading stations. As a reward, students use the space as VIP seating.
My students from previous years stop in every morning to have a seat and chat about their new school year. They are slightly jealous of the new addition!
The couch is a great space for me to meet with small groups and dive into deep discussions about our novels. Currently, we are reading Rules and Out of My Mind. Both books deal with characters who have disabilities (Autism and Cerebral Palsy). Our couch is a great meeting space to hear the students making connections, discussing story events, and hearing them empathize with characters.
The comfy corner is being utilized to spread a love for reading in my classroom! Thank you for your support!”

Help me give my students a comfy place to read, work, and think with a Foamnasium Blocksy Kids Couch! This couch is versatile, antimicrobial, and comfortable. The Foamnasium Blocksy Kids Couch will add an option for flexible seating for my 5th graders and take our reading nook to the next level! Students can read independently, read with a friend, or work collaboratively with this flexible option. When students have a choice in their learning, they are more accountable and successful. My students love to be out of their traditional desk and this couch will allow them to be comfortable, engaged, and relaxed as they work!
