  • Kickin' It

    Funded Apr 4, 2024

Thank you all for your kindness in donating to our project. We look forward to having these wonderful soccer goals to help get our soccer program started and to enhance learning.

As always, we are so grateful for all the generosity that has been given to our program over the years.”

  • Steppin' Into 2023

    Funded Aug 10, 2023

The pedometers have gone over so well with my students so far! After explaining the purpose of the pedometers, my students jumped right in with trying to get their steps in for the day. Without me having to prompt or say anything to them, my students started to challenge themselves and their classmates to take more steps and do more moving.

It was uplifting getting to watch students take an active role in wanting to not only better their physical fitness, but enjoy doing so with their peers. I set a goal of at least 12-1500 steps in a class period. All of my students meet that goal regularly and most exceed that goal by at least 3-500 steps.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this project possible. I could not be more excited and my students are without a doubt more excited to participate in PE each day!

Please keep an eye out for future projects we have coming up and consider supporting them as well. Thank you so much once again to everyone who donated to our project!”

  • Obi's Exceptional Art Students

    Funded Nov 10, 2022

The money raise has impacted our children at KIPP Triumph in various positive ways. Many of the students the art skills have grown, as they learn to express themselves in positive and safe ways. In addition, they also take pride in the work they have created.

We were able to paint on canvas Christmas trees and students were able to take them home as presents to their families. We are even starting up after school club for art in February for about 15 students. As the art teacher, I'm also working on creating an art show for our scholars as their interests and talent and art skills grow. Thank you to every donor for your support once again.

  • Let's All Play Ball!

    Funded Aug 22, 2022

Our intramural students were so excited to get the new basketballs. They immediately put them to good use, practicing dribbling and shooting. The smiles were all around watching our students play with brand new equipment, and it showed by the level of energy they had during our practice.

In the future, we are looking to add hockey as another alternative to the intramural program, and will be running a project in the future to help collect some new equipment for that.

As always, we are so thankful and appreciative of all the love and support for our programs, and we continue to look to you all in the future to help us reach our goals. Thank you so much for all that you do!”

  • KIPP Triumph Volleyball Extravaganza!

    Funded May 9, 2022

Our young aspiring volleyball players are so happy to have the proper equipment necessary to help them learn how to play without the fear of getting injured. With tryouts coming up in the next month, so many of the young ladies are already talking about how they cannot wait to get out there and use their new kneepads to dive on the floor and get the ball.

When I showed the ladies, the knee pads, they were excited and grateful, as most of them have either never played before or have never owned nice equipment. The coaches were also very excited when I showed them the volleyball cart. The biggest comment I heard was no more having to bend over into a ball cart to grab a volleyball.

We just completed a project for our intramural basketball program we are starting up this year, and are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the rest of our equipment. In the future, we are planning on running a project to acquire floor hockey equipment for a continuation of our after school intramural program. We are so thankful for all of your support, and look forward to future projects with your help and support.”

  • Jersey Mania!

    Funded Apr 2, 2022

Our students love the new jerseys. They are so bright and colorful, and have added a fun element to our classroom. Their reaction was that of joy and elation, especially when I informed them that they were all brand new and had never been used before. So many of our students are not used to having brand new equipment, and having the new jerseys made them happy and excited. You could definitely see an added level of energy to the basketball games once they put the jerseys on.

The next step for our students is to continue to put the jerseys to good use in our basketball unit, as well as other PE games throughout the remainder of the school year. We are so grateful and thankful for your kindness and generosity, and hope that you consider donating to future projects we have available.”

  • He Scores!!! Floor Hockey

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

We cannot begin to thank you all for helping us fund our hockey project! The goals came right in time for our hockey unit, which could not have been more perfect. We started out using the old goals to practice on, but I kept telling our students to be patient as the new goals were hopefully going to be coming in very soon.

When the goals arrived, the students were extremely anxious to have me set them up. I told them it would take a day or so but that they would have them the next day. When the students came in the next day and saw how amazing the goals were and the quality of the goal, their excitement level increased along with their gameplay. Everyone wanted to be the first to score a goal on the new goals, and the reaction was the same in all of my classes.

We will be finishing up the hockey unit this week, starting our fitness testing next week, and then starting a new unit on recreational games. We also are looking forward to volleyball and basketball in the spring. The next major projects for our classroom are going to be storage carts for all of the wonderful new equipment we have received thanks to wonderful individuals like you all who helped obtain such amazing equipment!”

  • Tumbling Fun!

    Funded Dec 6, 2021

We are so thankful to have our brand new safety mat! Our students love the opportunity they have to tumble and do gymnastics during recess and PE time. So many of the students are already excited about the upcoming Gymnastics unit, and are eager to learn more skills.

There were smiles all around when I opened up the package and the kids saw the mat. I could barely get the mat out of the packaging before it was on the ground being used. A few students even made the comment, "finally you got us a nice tumbling mat coach!". It was very nice to see so many of our students smiling and excited.

Before we get to the gymnastics unit we are going to be doing a unit on floor hockey, and my classroom has another project up ready to go called "He Scores!! Floor Hockey". Please consider checking it out and thank you so much again for your kindness and generosity.”

  • Scooter Mania!!

    Funded Oct 4, 2021

Our students were so excited to use the scooters for the first time. Many of our students haven't used one since they were in elementary school, and were taken back when they were first brought out. Almost all of the students could hardly contain their excitement and could not help but smile while they were using the scooters.

The first few days were used as an introduction to using the scooters safely. Once everyone was up to speed, we played a team game called scooter ball. The students couldn't help but smile as they tried to stay on their scooters while passing a ball and trying to shoot into a bucket. So many of our students came to me after the game and wanted to know what other games we would be playing with the scooters. It was definitely a joy to see how excited and energetic the students got during the activity.

The next step for our classroom is trying to find donors to purchase safety mats for our students to start learning about tumbling, stretching and gymnastics. We are so thankful for everyone who donated to our project and look forward to working with you all in the future.”

  • Recreational Gym Madness!

    Funded May 7, 2020

We cannot begin to thank you all for helping us complete our project "Recreational Gym Madness". Your kindness and generosity in your donations even during this difficult time speaks volumes to the character of people in our country.

Due to COVID-19, our school was forced to make scholars virtual for most of the year. They also chose to focus on the core classes which means our physical education program has been put on hold for the 2020-21 school year. So, our scholars have not been able to use the equipment yet. I know that when our scholars are able to rejoin the school and our program is available to them again, our scholars will be excited to use the new equipment.

The bag toss and washer toss games will be a different, non-traditional way to practice motor skill development while fostering healthy and fun competition for our scholars. These games will also help teach concentration and focus to our scholars. The impact of using games other than the traditional sports equipment will allow our scholars to feel more open and excited to come to PE each day. We are truly blessed to have so many generous individuals out there, and we cannot thank each one of you enough.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Poole

My school is fortunate to be moving into a newly renovated school building this year. We have a brand new and large gym, which my scholars and I are excited to utilize. Using our new space, the items listed on my wishlist are versatile and able to be used for multiple activities and sports in my physical education curriculum. Scholars in my classes are highly motivated by time and music and show greater improvement in their attitudes and effort when both of these factors are present. With the addition of a speaker system, we will be able to incorporate music into our class which will increase the level of joy scholars have during class. We will also use the sports clock to create healthy competition and help students track their completion of various physical activities using time. Furthermore, Safety is the number one priority in any successful PE curriculum and the safety cones would better help me facilitate and practice the safety procedures necessary to have a successful PE program. The bright colored cones will allow students to stay within specified boundaries. This will enhance the learning in my class by teaching my scholars the structure of a variety of games and help ensure they are staying within the designated area, which is particularly important on days when we utilize our outdoor blacktop. These materials will ensure that my scholars have a safe, structure, and sensational physical education class and will help ensure that my students are able to better focus in school, perform better on tests, develop more social skills, and build the foundation to have physically active lives.
