The owl pellet kit, pig anatomy kit, dissection kit, and other resources donated will give my students a hands-on experience learning about dissection and life science within the science lab. These materials will be used within a science lab as a supplemental lesson. By using a hands-on dissection lab, my students will compare and contrast different animals within a food web and chain.
I would love to see my students engaged in a hands-on lesson that intrigues them about science. At age 10 and 11 my students have never completed a dissection lab. When covering life science, my students didn't even know what an owl pellet was or where it came from. After telling my students that we "might" complete this lab, their faces lit up with anticipation. Opening the door to science in my students' lives now will help our future forever.
