    Funded Mar 9, 2022

Thank you for supporting Science and STEM Education in Arizona. I cannot tell you how much this kit will help our students learn about electricity & magnetism. Funded Mar 27, 2018

Oh my gosh! What a great surprise that I woke up to this morning. Thank you for funding our class project. I cannot wait to tell the kids this morning when I get to school. • S is for a Salsa STEM Garden with Disney

    Funded Apr 30, 2014

I apologize for taking so long to thank you for supporting our garden. Little did I know that starting a garden would be besieged with so much red tape. However, your donation kick started gardening fever at our school. We called in a gardening expert from University of Arizona who told us our planned location would not work since the area used to be part of the small engines class years ago and was in the shade. So we found an amazing area by one of the classrooms. We then had to find someone to till the land. But as you can see, our garden will finally take bloom this spring with our first harvest of corn.

Thank you so much for your generosity!”

  • Help us Present Our STEM Movies!

    Funded Mar 30, 2015

Thank you so much for supporting my students! They cannot wait to see how the Apple TV will allow them to effortlessly share their video projects with their peers. They have just finished making a cartoon about the rock & water cycles. The next project will be a video advertisement persuading people to go live on another planet. The kids love doing these types of projects - thank you for helping them purchase the tools necessary to complete them.

    Thank you again!”

    Mrs. Baker

  • Help! We Lost our Mice!

    Funded Nov 16, 2014

Thank you so much for your donation to our STEM Academy. The mice will definitely help the students with our many projects. I cannot wait to go to school today and tell them this amazing news. The students often struggle to use the laptops to design in TinkerCad. The mice will allow the students to become more proficient in the 3D design process as well as more accurate using the mice. Again, I cannot thank you enough for supporting my students in their endeavors to become scientists and engineers.”

  • Feed Our 3D Printer

    Funded Oct 17, 2014

Thank you so much for helping support STEM Academy with your donation to this project. The 3-D printer is now the students' favorite piece of scientific/engineering equipment. They now look up news articles specifically searching for information about new applications for 3-D printers. Because the students are fabricating so many items with the printer, we ran out of filament. Thank you again for supporting my students by funding this project. The kids will be so excited to hear that we can start printing again.”

  • Putting The T And E In STEM Education

    Funded Mar 25, 2014

Thank you so much for purchasing three ipads for my students. The kids were excited to hear we had received three more ipads so they would only have to share the technology with a partner. The first project we worked on was the Learn Code project. Using the ipads, the students created almost 30,000 lines of code! The students have also used the ipads to make commercials about the STEM program that they then show to the community.

I cannot express to you what a huge difference you made in my students' lives. Thank you for believing in my students and helping purchase ipads for my students.”

  • STEM Hangs in the Balance

    Funded Mar 23, 2014

Thank you for purchasing the digital scales. The kids were so excited to see and use them, particularly the Science Olympiad team. They had struggled all year to make accurate measurements on their balsa wood bridge & helicopter. The scales arrived right before their final tournament. It was so exciting to see their faces when they realized how easy it would be to measure. They were able to spend time building rather than measuring.

In the regular science class we just completed a lab, where students had to calculate the density of unknown solutions, and then layer them according to density. They loved the lab, and for the first time in years the kids were able to do the lab with few errors.

Once again, thank you for supporting my students. The digital scales are wonderful.”

  • Our 3-D Printer Needs Food ......Or Filament!

    Funded Feb 10, 2014

The students were so excited to start creating and building using TinkerCad. But when they saw their creations come to life via the 3-D printer, they were over the moon. The first thing my students ask when we have visitors in the classroom, is can they show them the printer. In fact, we had the State Superintendent of Education visit, and the students were so proud of it, they took him to see the printer before they even introduced me as their teacher. The students love working with the printer. Next year, we want students to design playgrounds and buildings and then print them up with the 3-D Printer. Thank you so much for helping my students utilize cutting edge technology. We use it everyday and we love it!”

Courage, Character, and Commitment - that is the motto of our school. Staff and students strive every day to live up to that ideal. My students inspire me with their passion for learning, they courage to fail so they can become better, and commitment to excellence. I can't wait to see where they go and what problems they solve. My job is to inspire kids to become scientists, to dream big, and that with an education there is nothing they can't do.
