  • 3D Printers for Art Club Kids

    Funded Nov 8, 2023

Thank you so much for donating to this project! We were able to fund two 3D printers and some of the materials for it. This has allowed not only me, but our technology teacher Mr. Reed, to be able to expose the kids to a new type of design.

In technology Mr. Reed has taught our fifth graders how to design a character, what elements need to be included or not included and allowed them to print out their figurine. In art club, we have allowed the kids to design shapes, tools, Minecraft characters and things of their choosing. This has let them learn the hard way what works and what doesn't, edit their plan and execute it again. This is the engineering process at its finest!!

Thank you so much for giving the kids this opportunity!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Berry

  • Generation Genius for Little Geniuses

    Funded Jul 8, 2023

This year we do not have a viable science curriculum. We had the opportunity to adopt a curriculum but our district chose other priorities. As a teacher with a major background in science this broke my heart. I knew that I had to purchase a curriculum and create a quality unit on my own.

Generation Genius is not a curriculum, but it is a major support for me to base my instruction off of. The videos are so engaging that my students don't talk at all and are just blown away with some of the footage. There are also activities, readings, worksheets and demonstrations that I can do with the kids! Beyond the science portion of Generation Genius, there is also a math support which has helped the kids see the visual aspects of math!

Thank you so much for your gift of learning!”

  • Yoga Balls for Good!

    Funded Oct 22, 2022

Thank you so very much for the yoga balls for our class. We were sent enough yoga balls for every student to have one if they wished. We spent some class time and recess pumping up all of the balls, testing them out to see if they were full enough and using the measuring tape to make sure they were the correct size.

Students have enjoyed laying on them, reading in different places, and fidgeting around on them. With the different colors I have also drawn different designs on them that allow the students the responsibility of their yoga ball.

This has truly been a learning experience for both the kids and me! Thank you again for your generous donations!”

    With gratitude,

  • Mystery Science Supplies for Fourth Grade!

    Funded Oct 23, 2019

As the boxes of materials came in you could hear the students squeals of delight all the way down the hall! They asked everyday for a week when we could get started on our new science lessons. As a class, we have organized all of our materials into the different Mystery Science lessons. This got the students excited for whats to come and hopefully will make them more responsible with the materials we have!

Most recently we have made "Bumper Coasters." The kids worked in teams to engineer a ramp that would keep their marble safe from the alligator at the end. They then conducted four different experiments to test if their marble was safe!

Up next we will be making paper cup phones and listening to how sound waves travel through balloons! Once we get a grasp on sound waves we will be talking about echolocation and Killer Whales!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Berry

Our local fish hatchery has a program to bring salmon into classrooms in our watershed. The materials I am looking for is a complete 55 gallon aquarium kit. This will allow us to have Coho salmon eggs in our room to watch hatch and grow. In fourth grade we spend many weeks learning about endangered species and why they are endangered. This aquarium kit will allow the students to explore why salmon in Washington are endangered, what they need to survive and their life cycle. This hands-on activity brings life to science. Student will be able to watch salmon eggs hatch right at school, a once in a lifetime activity!
