  • Robots in the Library

    Funded Dec 26, 2023

Thank you so much for the Robots!

Creating helps students with belonging, representation, and to create areas of expertise and growth.

Skills that require creation are not always present in traditional subjects. Students shine when we create lessons and units based on their interests and skills. Students understand that the future is technology and robots are a part of everyone's future. Your donation will help students soar with creations and exploration. Materials purchased will especially support students who may or may not have such supplies at home. Giving students a chance to create and code robots are giving students a chance to become great.”

  • A Place to Read

    Funded Sep 27, 2023

Students use their new couch everyday. Our library is certainly a busy place and books come first. Students may choose any book(s) they want and then sit down and to read and relax. We finally have enough couches for students to sit on couches during storytime! This helps our older students feel comfortable and ready to learn. At our school, we pride ourselves for purchasing books that represent our diverse student body in engaging and fun stories. Students love coming to the library each week.

Your generous gift helped our library support belonging and be inclusive for all of our students. Having a place to read supports our students when creating a strong sense of belonging and pride in their school, their library, and their reading.

Thank you for giving students a place to read. While you may never meet them in person, please know how appreciative our students are as am I, for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rae

Thank you for helping us transform our learning area to a living area, full of edible plants! In our library, we create. With your support, we can create food. Let's grow and learn!

  • Arts, Robots, Music, Oh My!

    Funded Dec 31, 2022

Thank you for giving funds so our incredible students can program robots and making art! . When students move from consuming to creating they become empowered future-ready citizens ready to help construct a new world. These materials will help students realize that they can create, build, and make. Through the creation process, students develop skills that will can take with them the rest of their lives. You have given children the opportunity and chance to be successful in a non-traditional way. Every child deserves to have success and I know that our students will not forgot the feeling, hard work, and leadership that goes along with creating robots and making art!

Public schools do not succeed in a vacuum; it is through the generosity of the public that we can offer our students opportunities to challenge, validate, and strengthen their young minds. There is simply nothing kinder than voluntarily giving, especially when it is for the hearts and minds of our present scholars and future community members. Your generosity means the world to me and my students.

Thank you for giving and caring to these young minds.”

    Funded Nov 26, 2022

Students come to our library with hope and aspirations. Students can leave with beautiful art of their creation thanks to you. Our school is a fun and exciting place where students feel welcomed.

The joy I've witnessed with students creating this year has gone above and beyond what I've experienced in the past. This is largely due to social and emotional projects during happening in our school with our scholars and talented teachers! Everyone deserves to feel proud, everyone deserves to create. Also, note that creating and wearing jewelry creating does not fall under old fashion gender roles, it transcends what we once believed to be true and that is also amazing.

Thank you so much for giving! Let's keep it up and allow or students to have the very best! They deserve it!”

Creating stop motion videos supports students creativity and gives them an authentic audience of whom to share their ideas. Stop motion videos support students in the beginning of the writing process as story starters and at the end to make their writing come alive. Students will use the iPads, along with free stop motion apps, to create their stories. Students will use their Legos as stop motion stands and as characters. The Lego characters also support students' role playing and empathy skills. I am requesting two iPads and Legos characters and blocks for my students. Students learn more when they can truly create. Stop motion video gives students a chance to move from pen and paper towards film making. As the librarian, I would make this a kit and teach it to students in grades K-5. Students of all elementary grades can learn and grow while creating videos.
