  • Science of Reading Virtual Workshop

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity. I really appreciate you investing in me and my professional growth as a teacher. I've been feeling like something was missing from my reading instruction for a few years now. I was following all the recommendations from my district and still felt like I should be seeing better results. I started to hear about the science of reading about a year ago and knew that it was the piece I was missing. This workshop has really changed my teaching and I can already see a huge impact in my students' reading ability. I've even begun to sharing my learning with other teachers. Thanks again for your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Scanapico

  • A Great New Year!

    Funded Oct 20, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations to support my classroom. The last couple of years have been tough for students and teachers and it helps a lot to have a nice, cheery classroom to come to each day. I've started to implement some new Science of Reading routines and the clear storage boxes have been a lifesaver. They keep everything nice and organized. My class loved the bulletin board and showed it off to all the other second graders. My students and I thank you again for your support and kindness.”

  • Rhyming for Reading Success

    Funded Apr 21, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations. I've had the opportunity to use these materials with 2 groups of students now. I used these materials for 2 weeks and almost all of my students who were struggling with rhyming made tremendous growth. I plan on sharing these materials with the rest of my team, so they can meet the needs of their struggling students. Thank you again for your generosity and willingness to help make a difference in my second grade classroom. We appreciate you so much!”

  • The Science of Reading

    Funded Jan 11, 2022

I was so excited to see that my book study project on the science of reading was fully funded. I'm in my 21st year of teaching, and have been exposed to many different ways of teaching. Over the past couple of years, I've felt that something was missing from my reading instruction. When I started seeing science of reading videos on Instagram, I knew I was onto something. I'm going to use this summer to read the books that I asked for in my project. It will give me a lot of time to process this new information so that I can think about how I can change my practice for the next school year. Thanks again for your generocity.”

  • Developing a Growth Mindset!

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donations. My students were so excited to receive the growth mindset books. We watched a couple of them on YouTube earlier in the year, so they couldn't wait to get "the real book" in their hands! The best part was hearing students encourage each other to have a growth mindset. One day, one of my students was having a really tough day. He was stuck in some negative self talk. Another student quietly went up to him and reminded him of the power of yet. He may not be able to do it yet, but he could keep trying. It was great.”

  • Creating a Bright Classroom

    Funded Aug 19, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donation. This year was very hard to start, and the chance to spruce of my classroom gave me a little bit of sunshine back into my school life. My classroom may not be "Pinterest worthy," but my students love being here, and I do to. The bright colors are just happy!

Thank you again for taking the time to gift our classroom with these new decorations. The look on my students' face was priceless when I showed them the packages. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and will be appreciated for a long time.”

  • SEL Lessons to Engage Learners

    Funded Aug 19, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity and supporting my second grade classroom. The last couple of years has been very difficult and Teachers Pay Teachers has been a lifesaver for me. I've found so many well put together lessons that are ready to go. The need for more SEL instruction has grown tremendously. Students are not coming to school ready to learn, and it is important that I take the time to help them deal with their feelings and emotions. With the help of your donations, I was able to purchase some lessons and units that go along with some SEL books that I already have in my classroom.”

  • Flexible Seating Helps Me Focus

    Funded Jun 22, 2021

Thank you so much for your support and generosity. I truly appreciate it.

My students this year have been loving the flexible seating options. I have a couple of students who have a lot of energy, and the wobble stools have helped them shift when staying at their desks. The blue chairs have been perfect for our Chromebook charging stations. It allows my students to keep working on their computers when they need to charge.

I received these items right after school got out last year, but my students were excited to see them set up for the new school year. I even had a former student come in and ask why they didn't use them last year.

Thank you again for your donations.”

  • Click It! Computer Mice for Learning!

    Funded Oct 22, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity! My students have been struggling using their Chromebooks without a mouse. Their faces where so lit up and were very excited to see the boxes of mice arrive. They were even more excited to find out that the donor was local to us! We had to rip open the boxes right away and try them out. They are perfect for their little hands and store nicely in the pouches we put our headphones in. They were also excited to find out that they didn't need to share them. Thank you again for caring about my classroom.”

  • Teachers Helping Fill Gaps!

    Funded Apr 7, 2021

It was such a blessing to receive this Teachers Pay Teachers gift card. Finding and/or creating the perfect materials to teach with takes so much time and money. Thank you for saving them both for me.

Because of your generosity, I was able to purchase materials that could be used digitally and in print. Most of my purchases helped me build my collection of lessons that teach critical social and emotional skills that my students need.

I was also able to find some fun math learning games that reinforced the skills taught in our daily lessons.

Thank you again for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Scanapico
