I work with special needs students in grades 6-8. Most of my EXTRAordinary teens are typical middle school students that are interested in everything BUT school! They love their friends and technology, as well as engaging each other in topics they are passionate about. A lot of my students come from low-income households that often lack resources to help them with class projects and homework. By having these materials available in my room, I can better support the curricular needs of the students. Chromebooks, headphones, and content area reading materials at a variety of levels are things needed to support reading comprehension strategies, curriculum knowledge, and writing skills.
