With this iPad and specialized sensory stimulating chairs, my students will be better able to attend and participate in speech therapy. The use of the iPad will be a highly motivating device that will make sure to captivate my student's attention. Since many of my students present with various developmental delays that make social interaction difficulty with same age peers, the use of an iPad can further serve as a fun component of communication. There are many apps that will help my students work on their speech sounds, receptive language (WH questions, identifying basic vocabulary, prepositions, cause/effect, sequencing, etc), expressive language (formulating longer sentences with detail), social-emotional (turn taking, emotions, anger), stuttering, voice, and literacy. The wobble chairs and balance ball seats will help students who need movement, sensory seeking, and present with limited attention spans, further assistance paying attention during the lesson while supporting their needs. My students are diverse students who need accommodations and modifications as they learn!
