I am requesting resources from Teachers Pay Teachers and a variety of books. Our titles include I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, X: A Novel, Hidden Figures Young Readers' Edition and more. This year, I want my students to develop socio-political consciousness and learn how to use their social media platforms and online platforms to become activists. Part of the World History vision of my school, students should develop "social justice advocacy on behalf of themselves, their communities, and various disadvantaged groups in society." I would like to fund my first project to allow them to see the world from a different point of view and integrate various online tools from Teachers Pay Teachers to help them explore other parts of the world virtually. I definitely would like to integrate more culturally relevant texts that help my students feel valued and represented.
