A Variety of Canvas
Funded Feb 13, 2024Thank you so much for your generous contribution towards this project. With your help, students were able to explore different perspectives, scales, and new creative adventures with the variety of canvas they were able to choose from. Students were excited to have the option of creating several paintings with the canvas. They gravitated towards the smallest canvas size, as it meant that they could make something for their homes.
Students around campus were also jealous and excited to see their peers walk around with their work, which means that it created a buzz around art class for the following year!”

Building Our Classroom Library!
Funded Aug 28, 2023Thank you so much for your generous contribution! With your help, my students have the opportunity to engage with a variety of books that are both in English and Spanish. I continue to be intentional about curating books that are culturally relevant in order to engage all students who walk into my classroom. Students needs stories that reflect their own experiences in order to inspire them to read and write. My hope is that one day one of my students will be inspired to write their own story in either a novel or graphic novel.”

Zen Den Seating
Funded Aug 22, 2023Thank you so much for making a generous contribution towards our Zen Den Seating! Students have been so excited to walk into the classroom and see their favorite seating in the classroom. Students use the seating before class starts, when the have free time at the end of class, during breakfast and lunch, and even have meetings in the seats afterschool. This has made me really happy as I know my students crave a space that feels different from the rest of the class.
I have also used the seating to hold one-on-one meetings with students about art, classes, and any other issues that arise throughout the day. This gives my the space to interact with my students in alternative seating that feels more personal to each situation.”

Diversifying Our Library
Funded Dec 31, 2023Thank you so much for making this contribution to diversifying our classroom library. Our school provides education to students from all walks of life, so ensuring that they have access to appropriate books is very important!
With your help we have been able to provide more books in various languages to engage all students. Not only are they in various languages, but they are also culturally relevant, which make students feel more connected to the stories they're reading. This is a great tool to encourage our students to build their literacy skills during our designated reading hours.”

AP Art Supplies
Funded Aug 21, 2023Thank you so much for supporting this project! With your help, I have been able to continue to challenge my students to dig deep down into their creative souls and paint various of artwork that other students and staff have been impressed by. My AP Art students continue to surprise me with the amount of creativity they have unleashed throughout the process!
With these supplies, students have been able to paint and experiment with the supplies to create landscapes, portraits, and abstract ideals. It exciting to see student ideas on canvas that they may not have had the opportunity to do so before.
Thank you once more for supporting my classroom creativity and enriching the minds of my students.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Santiago
