  • Whiteboards for Math!

    Funded Mar 13, 2018

    We used the whiteboards as immediate as their arrival. Currently, we are learning the probability of simple and compound events. I decided to make a bag of marbles distribute it amongst their groups and together we wrote the probabilities of various events. Each student took a whiteboard and wrote their answer. When the timer buzzed they all lifted their boards proud to display their answer, looking around and discussing how they arrived at their conclusion. I noticed not only were students excited to participate and learn but it got them talking about Math! This wouldn't be possible without your generosity. We are eternally grateful !!! It is because of your kindness that things such as these are possible!

Along the time I've become a Middle School Math Teacher I have noticed how excited my students get when they SEE Math, LIVE Math and UNDERSTAND Math. Unfortunately, I have 32 student class size and 120 students total but few manipulative and classroom supplies. It is always a challenge when I do not have enough to give out to my students when they are doing small group activities. I believe these would help my students feel motivated to get involved in the activity. Students can solve their Math problems best when they are engaged, motivated, and relate! I hope you can help us! I know my students appreciate every donation big or small! We thank you!

About my class
