Hooked on Read-Along Stories
Funded Mar 26, 2012Thank you so much for your generous donations!!!
It has been 4 years since I received the books and the books have been used every year.
This year my students are using the readers to learn to read independently by choosing the good fit books.
Having variety of collections of books help them grow interest in reading and your donation certainly played a big role on that.
I also play sing along books with CD during the breakfast in the classroom time, and it is such a joy to start a day at school with a fun story.
Thanks again for investing in kids' literacy education.”

E-Learning with IPads
Funded Oct 17, 2014Everyone in my class is very grateful for your generous donation!!!
When our class got the iPads, the students were thrilled to learn the educational programs I downloaded and didn't they learn them so quick!!! The very first program introduced to them was Raz Kidz reading program and 90% of them are reading and keep moving up to the higher level by reading on Raz Kidz at home too. They simply LOVE it! Their fluency has improved so much and they are getting very confident in reading.
Six kids go to iPad center each day and work on Phonics and basic Math skills independently while I have small group interventions. It provides much more quiet independent work time where kids are engaged in technology based learning.
We feel really good about learning how to type on iPads to prepare ourselves for the future computerized standard tests too. Overall, iPads make learning so much more fun and prepare the kids for the technology integrated learning and assessments.
Thank you so much for your donation!”

Kindergarten Read-Along Fun
Funded Jan 18, 2012First of all, my class and I would like to express our deep appreciation for your generous donation toward our new listening center.
Our fully equipped listening center has been open for my students to read along Dr. Seuss story books that came with the CD player and other materials that you funded through Donner's Choose.
On March 1, we celebrated Dr. Seuss Day by reading those new books with our third grade reading buddies and we had a blast!
You made all those meaningful and fun activities possible for my Kindergarten class this year and I will make sure that the materials are used continuously for students that will enter my class in the future as well. Thank you!
