All my students are either high functioning Autistic or Asperger's students who spend a majority of their day in a general education setting. Their handicaps are characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction, nonverbal communication, and sensory processing disorders (significant problems with organization of sensation coming from the body and the environment). My role as their teacher is to help them acquire the appropriate socialization skills and sensory processing skills to develop lasting friendships and life skills which will help them as adults, in college and/or in the work force
