Due to COVID-19, I am currently teaching a portion of my class remotely and a portion in-person. Many of our assignments must remain online in order to minimize the spread of germs. Currently, my classroom lacks sufficient technology to be able to support the majority of students in my classroom to take Math, Science, and Social Studies district assessments and in-class assignments. In addition, these devices will also serve to aid in student pre-assessments delivery and, in the future, mid-year and post-assessment delivery. Since I am a first-year teacher, these iPads would make it possible for me to facilitate learning at a greater capacity while providing my students with an excellent method of technology within my classroom. I plan to use these devices in everyday activities to get my students involved with each other. I want to break the barrier between in-person students and remote students. This technology would make that mission and dream possible. Finally, I want to support my remote students by providing the best audio I can. While moving around the room, students have a difficult time hearing me from the microphone that is pre-installed into my classroom camera. The AirPods requested would improve their ability to hear me clearly, while allowing me to move around the classroom to support my in-person learning students.
