  • Reorganizing for a Safe School Reopening

    Funded Sep 24, 2021

Your support has allowed us to organize our students' needs, create a sanitary and uncluttered environment, and to store student, class, and event specific tools and materials when not in use. The clear bins, after being labeled, have especially been beneficial for our students in being able to recognize their belongings or tools for a project. Being able to put away paper and students' choice time items in covered trays has given us, the classroom team, peace of mind when spraying and sanitization was occurring.

As our spaces change, these bins and containers continue to serve us and our peers in other classes when we share some of the organization materials with them. Thank you for helping us stay organized!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Merino

  • Playful Pastimes on the Playground

    Funded May 30, 2021

Thank you for your help in bringing my goal to life. As the distance between us shortened (after the pandemic), our students continued to grow closer through these activities. We continued to bring our students outdoors for a range of events.

After all this time, the equipment and materials have held up and continue to allow not only my students, but the school community to enjoy a greater variety of outdoor engagement. We have even held fundraising events with fun activities using the equipment from this project for our school! I do not doubt that we will continue to find creative uses, as well as traditional uses for these tools.”

  • Coding Using Tablets

    Funded May 19, 2023

Your generosity is unparalleled and we are forever grateful! Your donation is such a game-changer in our learning. With the wealth of technological resources available to us now, we are so excited to be able to access them using these new tablets! Since we have conceived of the idea to use these tablets for coding, we have come up with even more ways to incorporate them into our core instruction. Not only can we use them in class, but for clubs, debate, LEGO league.. the possibilities are endless!”

  • Classroom Gamification!

    Funded May 19, 2023

Thank you for your donation! Our students are going to have loads of learning fun with the gamification of our station activities! We can't wait to show you all the different ways we will be using these games to learn in reading, writing, math, and ADL. We hope to be able to incorporate it into debate and clubs too!”

  • 🌈 Color Our World

    Funded May 19, 2023

Your donation means so much to us! Our learning spaces will look more inspirational and motivating than ever. Thank you for being the sun that shines through our sometimes cloudy days, revealing the rainbow of hope that our students deserved to see and feel in their most challenging times. We can't wait to put these materials on our walls, doors, ceilings.. everywhere!”

  • Climate Change Challenge

    Funded May 9, 2023

Tackling climate change is a big endeavor, but we are well on our way to beginning our journey first, in understanding it and second, to take action.

Through the models, we will be able to learn about, and engage with, the content/problems in the ways many of us learn best, visually and kinesthetically. After, we can design solutions to problems using real tools scientists use in the field.

These abstract concepts will soon become more concrete, all thanks to your generosity. Thank you!”

  • Cool Classroom Coding

    Funded May 9, 2023

Thank you for supporting our coding endeavors!

Dash from a former project has been such an amazing resource for us, but he is really showing his age; he experiences symptoms like a stiff neck (we can’t launch or play the xylophone anymore because of it 🙁). We are so fortunate to now have an updated one, all thanks to your generosity! It is also super exciting to gain a new coding friend, Sphero! We can’t wait to see how all the different ways it will enrich our learning.

We look forward to sharing our new learning adventures with you!”

  • Advanced Programming in the Autism Middle School Classroom

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

Our students have been so fortunate to engage in activities and events with robotics and coding. They persevere, and learn from, every coding challenge that arises and that has permeated throughout all their other subjects. Having materials to participate in various robotics and STEM activities and events with more than the bare minimum has enriched their experiences.

The different sets allowed them to find the best fit for their learning style and level of understanding. From this, they were motivated to try their best and let their creativity shine.

Thank you for always supporting our classrooms!”

  • Overcoming Social Obstacles Using Robotics

    Funded May 4, 2021

Having such a wealth of LEGO resources to engage our students in teamwork to create projects for showcase has been amazing. These materials were the perfect balance between working together, but they are still able to learn at their own pace. In participating in a district-level event, we were able to elevate our designs with the additional expansions and sets that we received through this project.

The students were able to flex their creative muscles because of all the pieces they had at their disposal. We even extended the activities to include creating videos about their creations and video editing!

Thank you for always supporting our students with disabilities in advancing their knowledge in the STEM fields!”

    With gratitude,

  • Jumbo Games for Jumbo Fun!

    Funded Jun 14, 2022

Jumbo games get a jumbo reaction! They have been a hit at the various events in which they were available to the students. Students have had the opportunity to build their friendships through game-play! These social interactions carry into the classroom and we continue to encourage students to engage in peer-to-peer interactions.

Since they love seeing their favorite games in a different size, moving forward, these materials can also be used in the classroom and integrated into lessons. With the size of the pieces, they can use them to create life-sized words or math problems. The possibilities are endless.

Thank you for making these learning experiences larger than life!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Merino

Hello fellow educators, friends, and supporters! I hope my students inspire you as much as they inspire me. My students are diagnosed with Autism and loving school! Even though they experience great difficulties in communication and academics, they work as hard, if not harder, than any group of kids I know. We face these challenges together, and I look forward to sharing our experiences with this wonderful community.
