  • Novels for Scholars

    Funded Nov 27, 2020

This past school year was challenging, but because of your generosity all of my students were able to receive their very own personal copy of some wonderful pieces of literature.

We read and discussed all three novels through hybrid and remote learning. One of the novels was "By The Great Horn Spoon." The students were excited to learn about the California Gold Rush through a historical fiction book. They learned about character traits, how characters changed over time, and ethical values. A group of students loved learning about the gold rush and started researching names of old towns and the first people.

It's donors like you that make a difference in the lives of youth! Thanks again for supporting us during a pandemic.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Salazar

  • Learning Together

    Funded Jun 1, 2020

Wow! Thank you for your support. We are excited to receive the items on the list. I can’t wait to use the Post-it Chart Paper and markers to post information for my students as we Zoom. My students love learning. We’re going to use the Art Sketch Pad during our online art classes. The colored ink is so that my students can print out their research projects that we hope to be able to display in the classroom one day. Thank you all again for your generous donations and your support!”

  • Craft Your He(ART) Out

    Funded Aug 19, 2019

We are so grateful you donated towards our art projects. We have been studying the layers of the Earth. We brainstormed how to create a model of the Earth using Model Magic. The students were so excited and eager to build their very own. We didn't have all the Model Magic Colors we wanted to use, but thanks to the paint and paint brushes we were able to create our own colors.

The first time I opened the box and showed the students all our new supplies they cheered. It was nice to have bright colored paper, scissors, and painting paper. These supplies aren't always readily available for us at our school.

Our next project is to use our new art resources in math. Students will design a math scene using construction paper, paint, and scissors. They will use halves, fourths, fifths and eights to make their own original fraction art scene.”

  • Inspiration Technology

    Funded Oct 14, 2017

Thank you so much for your donations last academic school year. Your donations made an impact! We were happy when we received our two new iPads.

My students started using the iPads immediately. They were able to use them to take AR tests (reading tests). Also, students used the iPads to practice typing skills, maths skills, and some even came up with their own Google Slide presentations! My fourth graders were also able to take advantage of additional Common Core resources such as Moby Max.

Currently, students are using the iPads for Scratch 3.0. They are learning to program and share interactive media such as stories and games with other classmates.

Thank you again for your support! ”

    Funded Sep 9, 2015

I can't fully express my joy, excitement, and thanks for your donation to my project. I can see that you truly care about supporting students and teachers.

The technology that you helped fund will enable my students to research projects, investigate science questions, use resources from our new math program, give presentations, and allow us to access other Common Core resources.

Thank you so much. I can't wait for my students to see our new tools.”

    With gratitude,

  • With the iPad, iCan!

    Funded Sep 15, 2014

Thank you for donating to our classroom. We are very thankful and grateful that you took time to invest your money into helping us out. It truly is people like you that make a difference in a child's education.

My students are excited to have these resources. Students use the iPads early in the morning and throughout the day to take AR reading tests. Other students go on different Apps such as Khan Academy and other educational on-line websites. A group of students are currently learning more about Keynote and are coming up with ideas for future presentations.

Thank you again for helping to bring modern technology into my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Salazar

  • Gateway To Infinite Knowledge

    Funded Jan 27, 2012

Thank you to everyone who took an active role in helping my class and students. In January, we posted a project and asked for donations for a brand new classroom laptop. All of you took the time to donate in one way or another.

When the laptop arrived my students were able to research various topics and go on to different instructional websites. In one particular website they were able to click on different links and see a video that went along with our life science lessons. This allowed them to make various connections with real life situations. My students were also able to take various AR (reading) tests after every book they read. This empowered them daily.

Many schools are experiencing a budget shortfall, so without your help, my students would not have had a new laptop. Franklin D. Roosevelt said,"We cannot always build a future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future."I hope you continue to support education! ”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Salazar

My students are a dynamic group of inquisitive fourth graders. They are creative and have a thirst for knowledge. Our school's population is diverse and belongs to one of the biggest school districts in the area. However, like many schools, we are struggling to find new ways to bring in revenue. Our school consists of a large low-income student population. As a result, many of our students do not have regular access to technology.
