  • 3rd Grade Classroom Essentials

    Funded Mar 11, 2025

I am so grateful for your generous support in providing essential classroom supplies like scissors, glue, pencils, a digital countdown timer, a magnet shelf, and page protectors. These resources have significantly enhanced our learning environment and increased my students' enthusiasm for daily activities. The digital countdown timer has become an invaluable tool, aiding in developing time management skills by offering a visual cue for task duration. It ensures students stay on task and facilitates smoother transitions between activities, maintaining an organized and efficient classroom. Students are learning to allocate their time wisely, a skill that extends beyond the classroom. They also love that we can change the clock's color for different subjects—small details that add magic to our classroom.

When the supplies arrived, my students immediately noticed the new items, particularly the scissors and glue, which have become staples in our creative projects. Our big project involves researching and presenting information about different cultures worldwide. These supplies empower students to create vibrant posters showcasing their newfound knowledge, culminating in presentations to parents and other grade levels.

As we integrate these resources into our curriculum, the positive impact on learning is evident. Your support has provided essential tools and nurtured a classroom where curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking thrive. Thank you for making a meaningful difference in our classroom and investing in my students' education and growth. Your generosity has left a lasting impact, and we are truly grateful. We look forward to sharing more successes and progress with you as we continue to grow and learn together.”

    With gratitude,

  • Grovecrest Apple Classroom for 3rd Grade

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

Thank you so much for donating to our class Donor's Choose project for an Ipad and Apple pencil. These materials have improved my ability to display and interact with teaching materials, especially during math.

Your generous donation allows me to move freely throughout the classroom. The closer proximity to students increases student behavior and engagement. One of the best features of using the Ipad in connection with Apple TV is that I can display student work on the television and have them explain their strategies. The students love to see themselves on the screen.

    Thanks again for donating.”

  • Scholastic News Subscription for 3rd Graders

    Funded Aug 7, 2023

Thank you for so quickly contributing to the project that brought Scholastic Magazine to our classroom again this year. We have been studying different genre types and the magazine provides amazing on-level non-fiction text.

The best part is that it provides a springboard for so many other learning opportunities. Our first magazine was about celebrating diversity in the classroom. As a follow-up activity, we ended up making fortune tellers to get to know our classmates better. One of our first magazines also gave us the opportunity to form opinions about whether kids should be rewarded for going to school. We got to vote online and see how students across the country voted as well. Weeks later, I still have students asking to watch the poll and see if the results have changed.

Thanks again for the amazing gift of learning and fun from the scholastic magazine!”

  • Let's Get Reading in 3rd Grade!

    Funded Aug 3, 2023

Thank you for being responsive to our Donor's Choose project for classroom materials. The Sports Illustrated graphic novel series is a hit! It is so exciting to add new books to our shelves. This helps keep student engagement high.

Your generous donations have also provided a beautiful place to house our classroom library books. The bookcase spins so it takes up very little space, holds about 100 books, and makes it super easy for the students to browse for a new book. Thank you for making our classroom a better place to be!”

  • New Books for Our Classroom Library

    Funded Aug 24, 2022

Thank you so much for being so responsive to our project for books to help build our classroom library. As a new teacher in upper grades, we had a real need to add books to our shelves that would appeal to older students. Your generation donations have provided so many engaging series.

Our first genre study of the year has been Fantasy Fiction. The Dragon Slayer Academy series is not one the kids were super familiar with but I can't wait for them to discover Pig Latin for themselves in the first book and try their hand at practicing speaking it. As a former librarian, I love to do book talks in my classroom to highlight books on our shelves that the kids haven't picked up or read before. I can't wait to highlight all of our new books: Ninja Kids, Weird but True, Genius Files, and My Weird School.”

  • Scholastic News Subscription for 3rd Graders

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

Thank you for so quickly contributing to the project that brought Scholastic Magazine to our classroom. We have been studying different genre types and the magazine provides amazing on-level non-fiction text. One of our reading rotations each week is set aside just for reading the scholastic magazine. The online content, including videos and games, is our favorite.

This upcoming week we will be studying Benjamin Franklin in the scholastic news. Even though Benjamin had to stop going to school when he was 10 years old to help his Dad make candles and soap, he didn't give up learning. He read hundreds of books on his own. This idea from the magazine reinforces last week's vocabulary word "educated." The magazine also helps us make other connections. Benjamin Franklin's example connects beautifully to one of our latest art projects where we learned about perseverance and not giving up when things are hard. Thanks for the amazing gift of learning from the scholastic magazine!”

  • Boost Classroom Social Skills

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

THANK YOU!! Your donation to fund our classroom social skill book project does not go unnoticed. The Ninja Life Hack books have been the springboard for our classroom social-emotional learning plan. They have also inspired our room theme.

My students are bursting with excitement as each ninja and their unique skill is introduced. A member of our community adopted our classroom and has become our class social skill ninja. She visits our class weekly, reads one of the books, and helps us practice the new skill we are learning.

A million thanks for adding to the positive energy in our classroom.”

  • Social-Emotional Learning Books and Tools for 1st Grade Students

    Funded Jan 30, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to our first-grade classroom. The books and activities were put to use right away.

We are incorporating the ninja book series into our daily routine to help us refine and expand our social skills. We love how the characters from previous books reappear in later books. The books also include very specific strategies that we can practice to learn each new social skill.

We have a calming corner in our classroom where students can go when they find themselves in an emotional place that is preventing learning. The fidgets activities, dot markers, and legos have been an important addition to our calming corner. The students even used the legos from the calming corner during our 100th day of school celebration.”
