...But What if It's Raining?
Funded Aug 23, 2019We are so thankful for your generous donations towards new indoor recess activities. My students love everything. They have enjoyed being able to put together the United States puzzle, create with the pictures with the dotters, build their own creations and monster trucks. The pizza maker game and the monkey game have been a hit too! They love to see how many toppings they can add or how many monkeys can hang from the tree before it falls. These things are definitely allowing my students to be creative while they play as well as teaching them how to work with others. I am very excited that they are exploring with these new materials and giving the laptops a break. Thank you so very much!”

iPads in the Classroom
Funded Feb 28, 2019I cannot thank you enough for this iPad. I was very happy to see that it had arrived when I returned back to school from maternity leave. We have used the iPad this year for indoor recess, rewards, small math groups, and reading groups. There are some fabulous number sense games that are helpful for my kiddos that need a little extra help. The kids love the drawing apps because they can create whatever they want. My hope is to use the iPads, also with computers, to start blogging during the second half of this school year. Thanks again to everyone who helped fund our project!”

Funded Jul 3, 2018We are so thankful for these headphones! We are using them for computers and our two iPads. They have made our classroom a much quieter working environment. Everyone is now able to hear what they are working on so there is no confusion as to which computer said what. This has made our online spelling test run smoothly! No one has to spend time searching for a pair of working headphones. I believe that everyone's favorite part about these headphones is that they are pink! Thank you so much for helping us get this essential classroom tool!”

Funded Nov 6, 2017We are so grateful to have these iPads in our classroom! They have become the treasured station that everyone wants attend. My students have told me about a bunch of different apps that they have used in the past and want them on our iPads too. Most of my students favorite thing is that they can now write and create their own stories using the book maker app. One of my students loves that there is an app that he can choose Spanish or English. He speaks Spanish at home so he was very excited to use it here at school. They are also enjoying being able to do ST Math on the iPads-a program we typically use on laptops. I have found it especially helpful to use during reading groups. Students record themselves reading and then play it back. They are able to pick out errors and decide what they would like the improve on.
These have given my students much more experience with technology. It was awesome to see the students that have iPads at home help others who had never held an iPad before. We use these daily in the classroom and cannot thank you enough!”

We Like to Move It Move It!
Funded Oct 16, 2016We cannot thank you enough for helping us get wobble stools. We use them every day during small group reading and math. Some students use them at their desks regularly to help them focus without distracting others. I even have a few students who know they will need one and ask when for one when they get to school in the mornings. They have also made a wonderful incentive! They are used as rewards for good behavior and completing work.
The stools were delivered at the very end of the school day during dismissal. Some of the students saw them as soon as they arrived. They were so excited to see them that they helped me unpack them. They were also the first to get to try them out and they were impressed. The next day students that were seeing them for the first time could not wait to get to use one. We will continue to use these throughout the year for small groups, best table rewards, and good behavior incentive. These stools have truly helped out in keeping students seated, but remaining active instead of standing or wandering around the room.”
