Students will use K’nex kits from Nasco to explore how machines work and how to make them more efficient. Kits, such as Simple Machines, Exploring Machines, Building Bridges, and Renewable Energy, will allow students a hands-on approach to test through trial and error approach. Students will create with KNEX kits and through planning and teamwork they will create hypothesis to modify and improve the simple machine. Testing efficiencies in their world help them apply hypothesis to make their world a better place. Showing students that it is a normal, and scientific method to attempt learning through trials will enhance their exploratory process.
