Manipulate With Math
Funded Sep 2, 2020Not only do I teach my regular math class, I have a math RTI (intervention) class that will benefit from these math manipulatives that I received. We've already used some of the materials when we got to a particular problem that needed manipulatives to understand the material. I can't wait to be able to use more and more of the manipulatives whole group and in small groups. Manipulatives are very helpful in getting students to understand content if they are able to "play" and manipulate objects. We are so great for the materials we have received from some very kind people!”

Wobble Chairs and Yoga Balls, Oh My!
Funded May 29, 2020When I first received the yoga balls and wobble chairs, students were excited to get one. I made kids earn them and it made them work hard to get to sit on them. I am using several of the wobble chairs for students with ADHD. They are able to wobble around and still be able to focus on their work. I've loved being able to give students a variety of seating throughout the day. We have a back to back schedule and do not get a break until our lunchtime. The seating has allowed them to move and still do their work.”

Wiggle and Wobble While Learning With Mrs. Monroe
Funded Jul 8, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donation in adding to my flexible seating classroom. We are able to use flexible seating for a variety of students. I have some ADD/ADHD students who use the wobble seats and yoga balls and are able to focus on learning and get out their fidgets. I have some students to use the yoga discs while on my carpet and read. I was able to meet the needs of some of my students who needed an alternative seating choice, instead of regular seats. We are so appreciative of your donation!”

Learning Rug for Flexible Seating
Funded Aug 6, 2018Thank you so much for your donations in order for my little kindergrtners to have a special place in our room. We are able to have whole group learning in a fun space. I can assign students as certain space to help with classroom management. We can dance around the letters while we are just learning our alphabet. We do not have specific desks in my room because we have flexible seating. Students love to use their clipboards and spread out on the comfy rug.
When my kindergarteners first saw the rug they gasped with delight and we had the sprawl out and feel how comfortable it is. It adds such a homely feel in my class.
Some of my next projects are to collect bathroom rugs for individual working spaces to continue with our flexible seating concept. Thank you to all who helped make this rug possible and we appreciative!”
