  • Speech Therapy Supplies for Students With Autism

    The materials have greatly impacted my students in a positive way! The students love sitting on the seat cushions. The seat cushions help regulate their sensory needs to focus on the given tasks. They can choose to sit on either side of the seat cushion and like switching between the two different sides.

    Having a color printer accessible has given my students access to materials they otherwise wouldn't have. I create positive behavior support visuals such as token boards, voice volume scales, social stories, visual schedules, and a calm corner to increase positive behaviors.

  • Supplies To Succeed In School

    I have been using the supplies in my sessions multiple times a day. The supplies have helped my students complete and organize their assignments. Students arrive to the session and grab their personal folder. They use the highlighters when reading passages to highlight important details, when answering reading comprehension questions, and to compare and contrast information in a text. When the materials were received, the students were very excited to use the supplies in the session. They decorated their folders and felt important to have folders of their own.

Being organized with basic school supplies allows me as a speech pathologist to maximize my time during my sessions to help my students. Having folders will assist in preparing paperwork such as graphic organizers and visual aids to use during sessions. Students look forward to having their own supplies and a safe place for their work to be stored. I use highlighters with my students to identify key details when answering questions and identifying story elements for reading comprehension passages. Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand and not where their materials are placed.

About my class
