Working remotely with my students has been challenging. Using items like a document camera, writing tablet, a microphone, headphones, and a few other technological resources will help me assist my math students in being successful. Teaching math isn't easy when you do not have the resources to teach remotely. Using the resources that I need would enable me to show the students how to work out a problem instead of having them rely on videos of lessons. The students would be able to have a more interactive lesson because I can give them immediate feedback and show corrections on their work "live" during class that they can read, instead of trying to "write" digitally with a mouse that can sometimes be illegible since it isn't the same as using a pen or pencil. A digital tablet will help make the "writing" look more legible. Students who are in school would be able to use the document camera to share their work with the class as they explain their understanding of the lessons on a daily basis. My school district doesn't have the funds to purchase the items I need to maximize instruction. I am hopeful that these needed resources will be donated so that I can work with my students remotely when we cannot be physically in the building.
