These Flex-Space Comfy Floor Seats will allow my students to have more choice over where they will sit during our independent reading time in our intervention groups. Having a variety of seats to choose from will allow students to be more comfortable as they are reading and also will help them focus more on the text that they have chosen to read. Research has shown that flexible seating allows students to be more engaged in their learning. When students come into my room each day they have the opportunity to reread texts that we have been working on in our small groups and also to make choices from a variety of reading materials that they want to read out of our classroom library. As an intervention teacher, I do not have traditional seating in my classroom so students sit on the floor during their independent reading time. Having these floor seats will make this time more enjoyable and comfortable for my students.
