  • Serve and Spike

    Funded Oct 22, 2024

Thank you again for your generosity and thoughtfulness to help support our PE program.

My students are going to excited to play with new equipment!

For most of these kids nothing excites them more than the game of volleyball. They look forward to practice any chance they get, so again thank you for your generous donation.”

  • Coming Together Through Sports

    Funded Feb 25, 2024

My students were excited helping me bring in the new equiptment and opening up the boxes to see what was inside. Even to me as an educator, it feels like Christmas morning recieving new equiptment. To my students, nothing is more exciting than using a brand new ball or racket for their favorite pastime.

Gaining this new equiptment will give me the autonomy to be creative and and implicate modifications to all skill levels. This will help my students gain the confidence to participate with their peers in games and activities. with the lite air volleyball, it floats in the air for a decent amount of time and they love hitting it to see how high they can hit it. They count how many hits they can do without the ball hitting the ground and this ball helps them complete that task.

Badminton has always been an enjoyable activity for my students. These new rackets are big and durable enough to sustain activity for a long time. We have been playing mini tournaments and they have loved the competition with their peers. Thank you for helping my students keep active!”

  • Pump It Up!

    Funded Mar 21, 2021

Thanks to your generous donations, my students are thrilled to use these items. At first when they saw the box they immediately asked what it was. Much to their surprise they opened the boxes and wanted to use the materials right away.

We played a game of soccer and and when someone scored a goal, they couldnt wait to go over to the electronic scoreboard and put up the score. This piece of equipment has made them try harder in order to score goals and put up for the class to see.

When they opened up the ball pump, they wanted to pump up a few balls right away. This piece of equipment gave them the ability to have balls to use during class time. Without different balls like basketballs, soccer balls or volleyballs, my class would not be successful.

    Thank you again!!”

  • Birdie For Badminton!

    Funded Aug 20, 2019

My students have put to great use the badminton nets that you have helped purchase for them. I did not tell them what was coming, so the look in their eyes was filled with excitement when they opened the box. They could not wait to set it up and start using it. It is very easy to set up within 1 minute, as well as breaking it down. This makes it much more enjoyable for the kids to use.

SInce then, it has been used on a daily basis during the students free choice activity. students have teamed up 2on2 and 3vs3 matches. In the upcoming months we will be doing station work and these nets will provide competitive round robin games.

Thank you again for your kindness and generosity!”

  • GOAL! Crowd Goes Wild!

    Funded Feb 16, 2019

Thank you all again for your generosity towards this project. My students were very excited to see the new equipment in the gym. This new equipment has sparked more interest and participation within my classes. With this new equipment we have been able to get more creative to keep more kids active. Our class sizes have an average of 45 students, so having this equipment adds more onto the court to get more students involved.

Some activities that we play with the nets are soccer, broomball (safer version of floor hockey), handball and speedball. We are now able to have 2 goals per side with a total of 4 goalies, spreading the kids out more and giving them more options to score. With the balls, we are able to put 3 or 4 out at the same time, again spreading the kids out and having a better opportunity to not get left out. The cones help provide high visibility of safe areas and a variety of other purposes.

    Again, thank you,”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Flabouris

  • Educate, Exercise, Energize!

    Funded Feb 22, 2018

Thank you so very much for your support to my classroom!! My students love coming to the gym to participate in a variety of activities and sport games. My students do not have an opportunity to participate in sports out of school. This is the only place they get to socialize and participate with peers in activities. With our new equipment of basketballs and pinnies, my students have been super excited to play different basketball games such as Knockout, 21, Champion ball, Tic Tac Toe basketball and many other activities to long to list! The all time favorite game my students love to play is 5 on 5 games. The enjoy wearing the pinnies to help distinguish themselves on the court!

They couldn't wait to start playing with the new balls. There is nothing better than shooting a ball with a nice grip and dribbling a ball with no warps or bubbles. They are more motivated to play games and give 100% effort!

Thank you again for your support! It is greatly appreciated by my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Flabouris

My students love being active and look forward to trying out different activities through sports and team building. We have a diverse population here with 54% Asian and 29% Hispanic ethnicity. The other side of our diversity is our English Language Learners... 45% of our students have English as NOT their first language (ESL) and 40% are English Language Learners. Add on top of that 83% are high need students and 63% are at an economical disadvantage!
