  • Gel Plate Printmaking Supplies for Tiny Artists with Autism

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

We have started our printmaking projects for the year and the students are so excited to have more gelli plates to print with. Your generous donations helped us to add an additional 8x10 plate, a round plate, a square plate and a couple of 5x7 plates. Having more plates has allowed more students to work simultaneously and given them more choices in the kinds of work that they are making. Gel plate printing is a really unique and fun process. No two prints are every alike and it's magical to see the things that they students create with the process.

The new cork board made a huge difference. The previous one had been damaged during the summer and had a giant hole in it. Your donations helped restore that area and I have been able to use it to post examples of the medium that we are working with. It really makes a huge difference for the students to be able to see different ways that the same material can be used.”

    With gratitude,

  • Help Tiny Artists with Autism Organize our Art Studio

    Funded Mar 25, 2025

Thank you again for your generous donations. It means the world to know that our Art Studio is supported by so many people. Your donations will go towards getting us some supplies to help organize the Art Studio. I am very excited to use the mesh and elastic string to create a way to contain all of our craft supplies. Currently if you take something out it causes an avalanche of supplies to fall down on you. Thank you for helping us fix that.”

  • LEGO Letterpress Printing for Artists with Autism

    Funded Mar 17, 2024

Thank you again for your generous donations. The students have really enjoyed using the lego dot pieces to do letterpress printing. It's a fun process that allows them to work with a familiar material in a new way. I enjoyed teaching the students the process of letterpress printing and watching them experiment with the legos.

The students also love that it creates a pixelated image that reminds them of Minecraft. In fact that was one of the first things they said when they saw my example, "It looks like Minecraft!"”

  • New DJ Stand for Performers With Autism

    Funded Jan 16, 2025

Thank you so much for helping to fund this project. Our students and staff work really hard to put on our performances and this standing desk will get us one step closer to having the perfect performance setup. I am really excited to use this with my assistant DJs for the next show. Thank you for continuing to support our students and our art program.”

  • Big Backdrops for Tiny Performers With Autism

    Funded Nov 5, 2024

Your support of our program and our projects means so much to us. Thanks to your generosity we were able to create backgrounds for our annual holiday show. To say that the backgrounds were transformative is an understatement. They truly helped make our show special.

We used the tension rods to suspend the blue felt fabric, covering up the murals on the stage. I used the white felt to create snowflakes on my Cricut machine. I then had one of my classes attach the snowflakes to the backdrops using velcro.

When we were in the process of hanging them up, I wasn't sure that they made that much of a difference, but then I stepped off of the stage and in took in the full view. The backgrounds really transformed the stage into a truly magical place.”

  • Gel Plate Printing Supplies for Tiny Artists With Autism

    Funded May 8, 2024

Thank you again for your donations. With the money that you contributed we were able to expand our printmaking program. We added a new brand of gel printing plate, and we discovered that it worked even better than the plates that we started with.

One of my classes was really able to explore with the new gel plate. We used the plates to create photo transfers, which is a process that allows students to use photocopies of pictures to lift paint and create a print of the photograph. The images are really beautiful and have a really unique look to them (which you can see in the included photographs).”

  • Large Paper Storage for Tiny Artists with Autism

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

As always I am touched by the generosity of my family and friends The new large paper tray has really transformed the way that I store large paper while continuing to keep it up out of the way, which helps the art studio to feel more open and inviting.

Before getting the large paper tray, I was using an old large cardboard box to store any paper larger than 18x24. If I needed to get paper out, I would struggle to easily get a piece, having to lift anything stored on top of the box first. When I need paper now, I just hop on my step ladder and can easily get a single piece. Reorganizing the larger paper allowed me to shift some of the other things that are stored on top of the closet, making it a more efficient area to grab things in general.

Thank you again for helping to make our art studio a more functional workspace.”

  • Art Portfolio Organization for Tiny Artists with Autism

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

Thank you so much to all of the generous donors that helped to make this project possible. Our new bookshelf has really helped to keep us organized, while conveniently tucking under the smartboard, taking up no extra floor space in our new art studio.

This bookshelf has provided a really easy way to keep our class portfolios organized and helps to protect the students' work from week to week when we have projects that take more than one class period. As the year has progressed we have also found that the bookshelf works as a clever spot to store a few drawing boards too, for the students who prefer to work while standing.

Thank you again for helping to make our art studio a more functional workspace.”

  • A Visual Focused Bookshelf for Kids with Autism

    Funded Aug 2, 2022

Thank you to all who donated to our Visual Focused Bookshelf Project, I am always impressed by the generosity of friends and family. The new bookshelf has allowed me to create a little kid friendly library in our new art studio, while not taking up a ton of floor space.

Using the divided shelves and labels, I was able to create clear categories for the students to look through; Little Art History, Art History, Award Winning Illustrations and Art Careers. The students really love that the design of the bookshelf makes it easy to see what each book looks like as you flip through the books. The height of the bookshelf and the color coded labels make it easy for students to find the book that they want and maintain the organization with little help from adults.”

  • Help Tiny Artists With Autism Explore Their Imaginations Through STEAM

    Funded Mar 2, 2022

My students were so excited when we got our Clixo kits. Since receiving our new kits they have become one of the favorite imagination toys among my students and are the thing most requested when they have finished working on their art project for the day, especially among my older students. My students love the way that the Clixo block system links together, the magnets clicking together is very satisfying. They really thrive on the fact that they are an open ended toy that they can use to create all sorts of things.

Thank you again for your generous gift, I know our Clixo kits will be something that we utilize for years to come.”

I teach in a school for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This year I transitioned from being a 6:1:1 classroom teacher (six students, one teacher and one paraprofessional) to the Art Teacher at my school. Although it is a big change I am excited to finally combine my love, passion and knowledge of visual arts with all the students at my school.
